Right, I forgot to switch to perfect utopic mode where everyone is beautiful and physical differences don't mean anything... Sorry, I forgot that was mandatory in threads like this.

As long as you feel better..........maybe spend less time worrying about the state of nipples and more time reading the fine print on job offers.

That seems like a terrible idea.

You're kind of part of that problem.

The basic human attraction to symmetry and proportion is the problem and I can't think of a human body feature other than the face and genitalia that is more susceptible to this than female breasts.

Your attraction isn't the problem. The sense of entitlement, with which you feel you have the right to loudly and publically dictate your standards of beauty, is.

Stating the fact that there's some very non-proportionate and unsymmetrical breasts out there is not me personally dictating what I find beautiful and ugly. It's stating the fact that there are breasts out there that I'm the sure many of the owners of would like to keep covered.

Similarly, if you had some sort of similar situation on you're chest than you may also feel compelled to hide it. Only problem is that all of the sudden people will think something is up if you start swimming in a pool with a shirt on. Puts you in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

Not every girl is going to be thrilled with this. That's all I'm saying.

Your statements are what leads people to become self-conscious about themselves and their bodies. If people didn't think there were folks out there judging them just because of how they look, then nobody would feel this urge to stay covered up because of how their breasts look.

My statement is human nature.

Refer to the utopic comment earlier. Since we live in the real world, people will be self-conscious over appearances and maybe telling women that they should be going outside topless is a little thoughtless considering the VAST range of appearances that female breasts can have.

It's not like it is for guys where being shirtless as a guy means you look pretty much the same as everyone else in your general weight and fitness level. Two women who are the same height and weight and body type can look vastly different topless.

I think the girls that are championing this campaign are being insensitive to that.

Good God, you are on fire!!

There is some insensitivity going on alright........

I hope that one day you take your shirt of near me. My Adonis physique, sculpted from granite, will point and laugh at you skinny, pale excuse for a chest.

So because a few women want to be able to be topless at the beach without being stared at, one of the following will happen:

A) Somehow, all of society will turn off thousands of years of evolution and have all men and women ignore their relative attraction to symmetry and proportions and thus ushering in an age of beautiful acceptance where looks no longer matter.

B) Girls who are not happy with their appearance will now feel uncomfortable at beach with the new added pressure of having to either go topless or feel weird for still wearing a top i.e. like wearing a shirt in a pool.

I think I know which one will happen.

I don't feel weird wearing a shirt at the beach. I'm uncomfortable with how I look, but I don't care if the rest of the world goes topless...it's my choice

Dude Have you even been to Europe? The beaches there have every shape and size of breast and body.

You do get that this isn't a mandatory thing right?

There isn't going to be a clothing police out during the summer.

There are tons of people who are self-conscious about how they look, period. But we don't force attractive people to cover their faces.

What you are essentially advocating for is mandatory nipple-burqas.

In my original post I said if this actually catches on to the point where it's like it is for men (in Europe you could easily estimate that 90% of women are still wearing tops and that number is even higher for younger girls).

Ask a guy wearing a shirt in the pool if he likes the fact that guys are expected to be shirtless?

I like how I'm playing devils advocate and standing up for the girls who are probably against this yet I'm still some how the bad guy.

It's not about whether some girls will be against it or not. It's about whether that's sufficient justification to infringe on other people's liberty.

It's about the people you're defending likely finding your comments about them distasteful.

Not only that, but seeing other breasts that don't belong to movie stars on a more regular basis might actually be good for self-image.

Its an odd thing, in EU during the 70s topless was the norm in beaches, pools, and co-ed changing rooms were quite common in a lot of EU nations, especially nordic ones.

The trend has reversed many have said because of the influence of US movies, tourism, media, TV, etc.. They have exported their shame of nudity, prudishness on to the rest of the world, I for one don't like that
