It's not entitlement, it's called a short career window and early primes of elite athletes. This is why I cringe whenever I hear Treliving say "you can't simmer a prospect in the AHL for too long." Of course you can.

Find me an example of someone who was ruined because the team kept them in the minors.
Probably much harder to do that than it is to find someone who was ruined by putting them in the NHL too early.

Exactly. I was countering the notion that secondary scoring has gone cold.

There are no downsides to taking your time properly developing prospects. A player with self entitlement issues is a player issue not a team issue. The player either learns that they will have to earn their spot or they won't earn that spot.

It's kind of hard to tell you prospects who were ruined by NOT being played in the NHL since... you know.... they never played in the NHL?
I'm sure that in reality there are plenty of players that never got there shot and might have been able to actually play well but due to bad luck and timing had to move on.

In Wotherspoon's case he's been called up what, five times this season without making it into a game. Has he earned a spot or not - must be confusing to him let alone us.

As I said, up until the Oilers game our OFFENSE outside of line 1 has been poor. I took out the First line, D-men, Oilers Game and EN goals.
We need some creativity in line 2,3 and 4. Too bad.
EDIT: Since I took out the last 4 goals in the Oilers games, the first 4 goals in the 20 up to the Oilers game were scored by JONES, BOUMA and then Monahan and Hudler.

Detroit is/was a team full of veterans who have history of winning.
We had a barebones roster by virtue of being forced into a rebuild and trading away our core. And tried to recreate the Detroit situation artificially by signing a ton of bit players.

I would like to see Bennett draw in against Arizona. Personally I would sit either Raymond or Ferland and shuffle the lines as necessary to make it happen. I think if Hartley is going to give Bennett his first NHL start it should be this game.

Don't you want to see what Ferland-Granlund-Jooris can do tomorrow night, building on their chemistry from last game? They looked great.

Molberg's point was that he was called up, sent down and then pouted and didn't play great in the A - that's what the "team" was unhappy about. This is just what Molberg said he heard, so whatever that's worth...

Agree they were good last game - so would have no problem sitting Raymond then to see Bennett.

Definitely agree with this. But am I the only one who though Grandlunds goals were a bit lucky? To me it just looked like a guy who got some good bounces against a team that is dreadfully awful.
Regardless, Raymond for Bennett would be a great call.

Maybe his second goal, but the first one he put right under the crossbar after finding some open space. That was just a good play all around.

But by throwing the phrase 'entitlement issues' out there - with no proof at all - he has now tainted Wotherspoon, and fans will use that phrase on him for the rest of his career.
Nothing I have seen or heard from him suggests any 'issues'. Wouldn't be at all surprised that he was disappointed to get sent back down without playing, who wouldn't.
But let's not label the kid.

His second one was, I think he was trying to pass it to Ferland. First one was a snipe.
It doesn't matter though, that line had a great game. I've been waiting for something to get Granlund going and I'm really hoping they can provide a boost down the stretch here when it counts.

His second one for sure, but his first one was the direct result of an excellent forecheck by Jooris who took the puck away and then managed to get it to Granlund, and even though he bobbled the puck it was pretty good of him to still get that shot top shelf. Wouldn't call his first goal lucky at all. That was a well earned goal.

While that's not ideal it's pretty understandable. From what I heard Poirier had
the same problem.
