Default April 6 Practice - Bollig, Shore, Bennett, Wotherspoon likely scratches

not looking good for Bennett

Bennett sporting green this morning. Might not be the best sign for a debut Tuesday, but we will see. #Flames

No surprise, but Ramo not on the ice this morning. #Flames

Sam Bennett, Brandon Bollig & Drew Shore wearing green no-go jerseys to start practice. Coming off of a win, will #Flames make any changes?

Eh, we have good line ups right now, no need to change them.

This better be Hartley mind game tactics. He NEEDS to be in the lineup against Arizona if you want him to play at all this season. Can't start the kid against the kings or jets. Those aren't the kind of nerves you want to deal with in combination with your first NHL game.

Also, any word on Wotherspoon getting in?

This is totally Hartley just screwing with everyone. By the end of the practice, others will be wearing those jerseys. He's keeping a light atmosphere down the stretch.

If Bennett doesn't play against Arizona then I can't see him playing at all unless there's an injury.

Super stoked that Mason Raymond will play though. He's just irreplaceable....

I agree with those saying getting Bennett in vs a weaker AZ team is the best option for seeing where he's at.

And despite the win (it was the Oilers and it wasn't exactly in the bag from start to finish), I still think Bennett gives us a better team than at least a couple other players.

At this point, I trust that whatever Hartley and the boys decide to do will be for the best.

Bennett isnt going to play this year unless there are a bunch of injuries. If they don't play him against creampuffs like Oilers and Coyotes, there is no way he is getting in with the season on the line against Kings and Jets.

I wouldn't be shocked if Bennett doesn't dress at all this year.

With a big third/fourth line performance against Edmonton I wasn't expecting any lineup changes. That's why they should have played him on Saturday, coming off a stinker in St. Louis, but now he may not get in I guess.

Because our 3rd line had a good game against the terrible Oilers?

We're going to really miss him if the Monahan line is shut down in any of the last three games and we have no one else that can generate any offence.

I think this is a huge mistake. Secondary scoring has been a massive problem for this team up until the Oilers game. Just cause we scored some goals against the worst team in the conference (by a mile) doesn't mean it's all of the sudden fixed.

if Bennett starts in LA the flames can't burn his first year of ELC unless they make the second round. (2 reg season + MAX 7 playoff games)
I really think this plays into management's decision on when to start him.

BTW in this new wild card format, in the second round do teams still play in division, or is it simply 1st plays 4th and 2nd plays 3rd?

Really? Arizona has been the worst team in the conference since the All-Star break. You don't tinker with a winning lineup. If the Flames continue winning and the Jets lose a couple, maybe the last game of fhe season means nothing and Bennett gets a shot.
