Great confidence boost for the kid, stepping into his first game as a professional late in the season and doing that. Good for him.

Kid looks a bit scrawny in that interview, needs to get on the Monahan workout over the summer.

And great game Kenney!

glad to see an impressive debut.
Hope he makes an impression next season.
You should get a fee from the Flames for scouting this kid.

I'm starting to think the only way he posts so fast is that he already does!

Morrison with another assist in his 2nd pro game.
Cuts the Stars lead from 4-2 to 4-3
1g 3a +4 and 4sog in 1 and 2/3 games so far.

Not enough. Will compete with Price and OV for Hart. Lock or HoF.

game over, Flames lost 7-4.
Morrison was on the ice for the empty net goal so he got a minus.
1g 3a +3 5sog in 2 games
Still a bit raw defensively, that should improve over time.

How would you describe his defensive game in terms of style? Does he use his size well?

To be quite honest, his truculence is post apex.
There, I just got the Flames GM Cliche Trifecta. What do I win?

Does anybody know what the official salary cap hit for Morrison is?
The usual $925k ?
Doesn't seem to be on NHLNumbers, and of course capgeek is sadly gone.
Can this kid realistically compete for a NHL spot next season? or is he likely in the AHL for the balance of the year?

If the Flames D suffer more injuries, and Spoon already up with the club, who is the next D call-up?
Morrison was a college kid, so does that mean he's potentially in the mix?

Morrison is only on an AHL deal, his NHL deal doesn't start until next season, so he is not coming up.
Next D call up would likely be Cundari IMO. He's been solid down there lately and has a few NHL games under his belt.
EDIT: Kulak and Ramage both recalled as per other thread.

Don't know his numbers.......really miss CapGeek.
I think he could have a shot, but it won't be easy. He will have to beat out vets to do it as there are no spots "open" even without signing anyone else on July 1st, or adding any more D via trade.
1. Gio
2. Brodie
3. Wideman
4. Russell
5. Engelland
6. Smid
...all signed for next year, although Smid might be done with the injury he had....who knows.
Then there is the possibility of bringing Schlemko back, or maybe even Diaz....
...and also Wotherspoon will be for sure pushing for a spot out of camp.
