Not a chance, you don't even have to photoshop the rookie of the year cover. In fact someone did photoshop it and it looked pretty much the exact same

I keep looking at that smile and it reminds me of Wideman's smile...
But yes, resemblance to Johnny is definitely there.

I suspect defensively he's already way past Colborne as a centreman at the same age, just based on the team/league he's on. Colborne (and Shore) didn't seem to go to a very defensive-minded school.

That'd be nice since Colborne's 2nd on the team in +/-, plays PK sometimes, and has become pretty darn good in his own zone.

I meant at the same age. I've never even watched Providence play.

The Snozberries guy is married to Christina Hendricks of Mad Men fame. I think he did alright for himself.

Calder Trophy Race: Johnny Gaudreau v Filip Forsberg & Ekblad too

I remember that night... how stupid he looked saying Johnny wasn't good before the game and Johnny lit it up and looked like the superstar he is. On after hours the other panelists started to tease Healy for how wrong he was and his response was to change the subject to what kind of socks the other panelist was wearing... No joke... That was his response. He hasn't had to eat his words on national television yet but he will.
When Johnny wins the Calder and is a key piece to this team making the playoffs... It'll be Mr. Johnny Hockey to you Healy.

I don't like Healy either, but unless I'm missing something all I remember him saying is that he thought the Johnny Hockey nickname was premature, and that people should hold off until he actually does something.
I'm glad Johnny proved himself, but I think some people are re-imagining the comments as far worse than they were.

Nope, he said "he's not very good" word for word. Maybe someone has a clip?

All I remember thinking was that "Ok, that's fair", but because it was Healy saying it, it was particularly grating.
I'm pretty sure he never flat out said he's not very good or talented. I think that may be revisionist, but I could be mistaken.
EDIT: And even if he did, it would have to be taken within the context of those first few games...of which, honestly, Gaudreau wasn't as impressive as he's been since the night he spent in the pressbox.

He stated it with pure contempt dripping out of his tone. It's Healy though, everytime he opens his mouth a pile of verbal diarrhea spews out of it.

I totally concede that Healy is an irritating blowhard.

Even about a week later when Gaudreau was starting to find his groove, Healy referred to him as Johnny Jockey. Healy stinks.

I don't remember this at all. Interesting.

I never heard Johnny Jockey. But I do remember the between period segment, and he was scornful.

Grantland did a write-up on Willie Mitchell and Aaron Ekblad's life as roommates - nothing groundbreaking, but I always like reading about stuff like this.
