I don't know the exact details, but I do know the Flames are proposing something very creative that the taxpayer will like hearing.

You are not out to lunch, they are one and the same (or very very similar).
People will never forgo their right to complain.

This thread reminds me of the Crosby concussion days.
Day after day we would check nhl.com, tsn & sportsnet, and there would always be a breaking news headline almost every day.
"UPDATE: No update yet on Crosby's status"
I keep checking this thread for updates, but the only update is that there is no update.

On the announcement side, it will be any day now. I know that doesn't help at all, but I'm not the one making the announcement. Wish I could give you an exact date and time, but I'm just not part of that.

As a result of that, they have some seats int he upper bowl that you can't quite see all of the ice surface without leaning forward, getting out of your seat...knowledge of that saved me a whole bunch of $ getting tickets for a game @ the ACC...

I always start to get very suspicious and uneasy when "creative" or complex solutions are being floated. They tend to be very one sided while on the surface they look to be a win-win for all parties.

I sure hope they do not decide to build there.

And the current location is any better? Macleod Trail is a parking lot at the best of times.
Getting to the game would be easier for most Calgarians at a West Village location. The problem would be how much it would clog up a major traffic artery for everyone not going to the game.

As in-the-know as Muta seems to be, I would put money on the sureloss update.

Muta could elaborate more, but there' a gag order in effect. That said, not even the most in-depth people with the subject know all the details like Ken King and his immediate crew.

New security measure? Hold your phone and keys above your heads. Empty all change from your pockets, and you don't get it back.

They said they were going to show the Mayor first. He's been out of town in Halifax and Hamilton, so he's probably not seen it yet. I'd guess at least a week away, if not more.

Muta - any knowledge on whether a stadium design has already been commissioned, or if we're just going to get some placeholder comps to tide us over for the next 12-24 months?
