A Kings win over Colorado tomorrow would tie them with the Flames in points and games played, but Flames would keep their spot because of ROW.

Chicago has 84 points and don't play til Thursday. If these teams keep winning they could get sucked back into this race. With Kane out it could he a tough haul for them.

Seriously? You're whining at me because I read something you didn't? The internet is a big place. It's out there and was mentioned. Your feelings shouldn't be so easily hurt.

how is he whining?
the only place i saw Horvat and Calder in the same sentence in that link was from ONE Canuck fan from hfboards who suggested he should be mentioned in Calder talk....that suggestion was quickly shot down by the other Canuck fans.

Which is more than "anyone at all" as he put it in his post dripping with indignancy.
I didn't stick around to see how the conversation played out as I had my chuckle for the day.

Yep, having the Avs win is better, but they will then be just 4 points back of the Flames.

The Ducks didn't help but dino's right, the Sharks are in trouble if they get into a tie, their ROW stat will sink them.

Talk about a hattrick of 2-1 scores, all in western conference rinks. The Canucks win in reg time with Kassian getting the GWG. The Predators finally break out of their slump, but it was difficult. They won 2-1 in OT, Neal gets the GWG. The Coyotes rookie goalie, Domingue, was terrific in net facing 40 shots in the loss. The Sharks go 8 rounds to win in the SO and beat the Penguins. Fleury and Niemi both played well in this goalie dual. What a GWG by Tavares to beat the Leafs 4-3 in OT. His parents were present and amazed to see him score a goal like that. Detroit beat the stupid Oilers 5-2, no surprise there. The Ducks loss helps the Predators out as the 2 teams are tied for 1st place in the west and overall. The Islanders are now tied with the Habs for 1st in the east and are both just a point back of the western co-leaders. The Red Wings are only 5 back of the Isles and Habs and the Penguins just 4 back.

I've seen more than a few Canucks fans on HF post they think he's going to be better than Monahan. I guess it's fair to project him as better since nobody knows the future but Monahan scored over 20 goals in his rookie season and is bucking the sophomore slump trend by having a very nice 2nd season. The fact is that he's putting up Josh Jooris type rookie numbers which isn't bad but it's not like Flames fans have Jooris penciled in for top 6.

Totally different types of players. Horvat was supposed to develop into more of a two-way type of player, not a goal scorer. He doesn't appear to have gotten much power play time, and has been playing on a depth energy sort of line. He also only recently appears to have sort of clicked. I say "sort of", because he's had a good stretch of production, but guys go on streaks. I'd say he looks like a 3C at worst (arguably already is).
Calder talk is ridiculous; Forsberg is almost certainly going to win it.

Yup. And now they're gonna be angry coming into Calgary on Wednesday after blowing that game against the Nucks. Not to mention the Flames will be playing their first game back at home after a long road trip....yikes. I'm not liking our chances tomorrow.

I have no clue what Horvat will turn out to be, but he's having a strong rookie season
on a per 60 min basis he's putting up more points than Jooris (he's also 5 years younger)
not even close to the Calder though just so gojetsgo doesn't get any ideas

And the CDC post that mentioned it was followed with a bunch of No's and even a "don't embarrass the fan base like that"

Just doing a quick look at hockeyanalysis, Horvat has an 18% shooting percentage. The kid has a good shot, but it's not "Stamkos" good. That'll almost certainly come down and fewer pucks will go in unless he ups his shot rate a bunch.
But the more important thing is, and this is obviously only 10 games or so of data, but Horvat's CF% with Ronalds Kenins is an excellent 53%. His CF% without Ronalds Kenins is a hilariously bad 41.5%. If Canucks fans want to get on a bandwagon for any of their new players, I think they might be backing the wrong horse here... found this as well.

I get some 24 year old Latvian dude isn't as shiny as a former 9th overall pick, but it looks like Horvat isn't the one driving his recent bus of success.

You seemed really off-put by my simple observation.
Who cares if this thread came up? The fact is there's a big thread on HF where it was asserted and then discussed at length where you seemed to think I was making it up and added you didn't see "anyone anywhere" talking about such things.
Bottom line is the internet is a big place and just because you didn't see something doesn't mean it wasn't discussed.

That makes it two places being discussed (that we know of)... and the one I was looking at had a lot of people rightfully dismissing it but also had a fair share of people pointing out if it was another season it might be a calder caliber campaign... that he should get a calder for best defensive forward etc.
Again, the kid is going to be a gamer, but the Canuck hype is off the charts. I only mentioned it because there are a few people pushing it to an extreme and I found that funny. Then I get a post that had an outraged tone suggesting no one was saying such things.
