Well, I'd say Rattie has had a better development path. The inconsistencies that Sven has had to deal with in Calgary are visible. Rattie has been kept in the AHL, almost exclusively, as he developed his pro game.
That being said, the idea of them trending in opposite directions is again just fandom taking over.
Rattie's AHL 14/15: 0.60 PPG
Baertschi's AHL 14/15: 0.65 PPG

I agree. Rattie would be decent value, but we really should be looking at D prospects that are close, or picks.

Rattie is listed as 6' 180lbs. Only 22 and seems to be a goal scorer at every level. I doubt St-Louis would be willing to part with him, but RW is a position of weakness on the Flames and so are goal scorers.
Where do I sign?

True. I meant the opposite as in "he wasn't stirring the drink". Dumb word usage in my part. If we look back, that was my exact point, that their both good players and the whole "Rattie is nothing without Baertschi" was a bit homeristic

One is a much higher pick though so im still considering that stat line a dissapointment.

I'd love to see a Baertschi - Shore - Rattie line in the AHL this year.

19 spots really make that much of a difference?
Each guy was picked more or less as expected. They are both working their way through the pro ranks. Sure, I would be happier of Sven was an NHLer this year, but it seems pretty clear he needed another year in the AHL. Likely also true for Rattie. They are close in terms of quality of prospect and both seem to have about the same chance of making it, IMO.

Sounds like the Caps are trying to talk up their position.
Cole is not a comparable - $4.25M for nothing.
Lupul would make more sense, but still very expensive
IMO, Glencross is clearly the best option in that group.

LeBrun also saying that Hawks are looking at Vermette and Glencross, but in his opinion Vermette is a better fit for them.
LeBrun also saying Bruins are looking at Cole, Glencross and Stewart.
starting to think LeBrun doesn't like Glencross...

Agreed. These guys are still young and some move up faster than others. Maybe they can recreate the magic together. I would trade Glencross straight up for Rattie. Assuming we can get anything for Glencross. If he was so great someone would have scooped him up by now. I'd almost give him away if we had to just to free up a roster spot.

Sorry I just hate this style of debate. Someone says something that isn't realistic so you argue against it by proposing something just as absurd.
Pointless.

I never proposed that, I simply said we would have to move one of those 3 if we wanted Alzner, just a statement of facts, nothing more.

Your opinion is NOT a fact. That's pretty egotistical to think like that and then puke it out like gospel.

But it's not a statement of facts - it's your opinion.
And what makes it worse - and annoying for people - is you state that same opinion almost every time a trade is proposed.
And what makes it even more annoying is that you admitted, in another thread, that you don't follow prospects much.

Okay, maybe 'facts' isn't the right phrasing, but imo, outside of dealing one of our young core pieces we have absolutely nothing that would give them a reason to move him.
@Enoch Root: so? It's irrelevant that I don't following middling prospects that much. Ones like Bennett/Gaudreau, yes I keep a tab on, ones like Hunter Smith ?not so much.

If they can't get at minimum a conditional 2nd round pick (3rd if he doesn't sign) for Glencross they should keep him for the stretch run.
