Nobody else knows who he will waive for, so Treliving can play somewhat of a bidding war/bluff.

I still think there's an outside chance he could net us a late 1st rounder.

As someone mentioned, Glenny is due to have one of his massive scoring streaks. The East-coast road trip is the time to do it: showcase his skills for a trade and help the Flames in the standings.

1. No one with a full NTC/NMC is obligated to give a list. So I don't know why anyone would assume it is normal to get a player to sign off on a list. Even a GM.

2. Glencross can't be waived he has a NMC.

3. For now it sounds like it is the team that is asking for the list not Glencross.

I don't care what some of you hacks have to say but a big trade of Glencross, that water bug Backlund and Romo and Cement foot Engelland as a package should get us some talent in return. Watching these players makes so pissed.
Watching Glencross gliding around and Backlund constantly coughing up the puck or just losing puck battles... Had enough!

Agreed.

Which is exactly why we retained Cammalleri last year. Retaining Cammy set the precedent that we won't simply dump an asset for an unfair return.

So this is very good for Treliving.

I think some of you underestimate his value a bit. We've seen it time and time again, Cup contenders willing to part with their Swiss bank account in order to add a piece to put them over the top.
and the flames can easily eat half the contract bringing his AAV to a whopping 1.275M he may be one of the only additions possible for some deadline buyers.
i somehow don't think it will be a pick coming back either, i think treliving would rather select a prospect from another org.

Quit it. He got a list, Jarome changed his mind.

It has nothing to do with Glencross himself, it's all about managing assets and unfortunately despite a lot of people liking Glencross, it's better to move on.

We'll need his roster spot for Sven next year as he's no longer waiver eligible.
I was with you right up to here.... there are guys I'd call up before SB, he's down the depth chart a ways now.

Wasn't it mentioned the Flames were willing to take on a bad contract if it meant gaining a 1st? Glencross is only icing on the cake for another team if they go this route.

Why would the Flames put him on waivers? That'd be totally shooting themselves in the foot.

Back to Glencross and his list.. have to think his list of teams would be tiny. The Flames are currently in a playoff spot and have as good of a chance as any. He's not going to move just for another maybe chance. Figure he takes the top handful of teams and narrows it down to the ones he thinks have a legit chance. 2-3 teams?

Montreal might be a good match. He'd slot in well with Brandon Prust as that 3rd line right wing, either or pushing one down the line up, but Glencross with the ability to move up if he gets hot. Good depth addition for a team making a legit drive.

Feeling pretty confident in management right about now. Keeping focused, not getting distracted by one season. Such a welcome change.
