I actually found that funny, but almost every fan base believes in 3 facts about their teams:
1. They don't get the benefit of the calls. The refs miss way too many calls from the opposition
2. The broadcasters are always biased to the other team, panels hate their team, etc.
3. Their team allows more 1st goals/wins/etc and slump busters than any other team
Go on any board and all the are running themes. The best way to see it is when your team isn't playing. For example, I went and looked at HFboards Oilers and Canucks when those two teams played each other and it was hilarious. The national broadcasters liked both teams more than the other and it was incredibly unprofessional how much they loved the other team. Both boards had "THERE'S TWO TEAMS PLAYING HERE!!!" multiple times
Skewed perspective. If 100 players score their first NHL goals in a given season, that means each team gives up 3-4 on average.
Calgary, for instance, had five guys score their first goal last year - Monahan, Granlund, Knight, Agostino and Gaudreau. Only one so far this year, Jooris, but others with potential.
The importance of winning this game is less about staying ahead of Minnesota, and more about moving 3 up on the Sharks and maintaining our distance on the Kings. Moving 5-6 up on the Wild would be a bonus.
Beating the Wild in regulation would also allow the Flames to even the season series with one game left to play in Minnesota in late March.
It would be good to have the season-series tiebreaker in the Flames' back pocket, just in case it comes down to tiebreakers at the end of the season.
First game I'm not going to be able to watch this year. Hope the GT is active tonight! Please and thank you
If we're down going into the third, there will be a TONNE of car pictures. I don't own one, so I can't contribute. Here's hoping we don't have to break out the lucky Lexuses.

We're +3 in ROW over Minnesota, so unless something totally weird happens, we should easily take the first tiebreaker if the two teams end up even on points. But winning the season series and taking the second tiebreaker is always a good thing!
Finally a game I can watch here in Toronto. Sucks being in TO for the next month while the Flames battle for a playoff spot. Gotta find a bar that has NHL Centre Ice.
Real Sports Bar? Shouldn't be too hard anywhere with a screen
The Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little, and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while the Company is true. Go Flames Go!
