He was ok(ish) talking about the Flames but his sporting knowledge was pretty sub par for a guy whose job it is to have a pretty solid knowledge.
Also what is the obsessive need for him to karaoke on a morning show? The last thing I want to hear is a bad singer butchering songs ESPECIALLY at freakin' 7:00am. I am terrible at karaoke so guess what I DON'T DO IT (often).
Anyway Dean, go away and never comeback..

Come on, he also endures basically being called a fat slob for the entire morning ie Kevin James, King of Queens. lol, you gotta admit the 9 o'clock hour is pretty funny.

Sounds like you are the very guy he's talking to who should turn the station. Your hostility makes it sound like Boomer dated your ex or something.

"I Love Boom!" - Bob Hartley
I quite like the show, even though it does get carried away with Grade 9 humor at times. Boomer is actually pretty funny, especially some of his parody imitations. I can see how someone tuning in the odd time wouln't enjoy, but there's a lot of inside humor that you'd only get by listening regularly. I hope he sticks around.

I say leave it as Rhett & Pinder in the morning. Don't replace Boomer and buy Rhett a case of beer every morning and let the hilarity ensue.

There is more of Boomer's schtick I like than I don't like. Would be bad to see him leave, considering the lack of talent depth Fan960 has.
Steinberg makes my skin crawl. I would tune out completely on the drive in if he was on. Overtime is awful, although I loved his "I'm a new condo owner" updates

I will say this, he can be entertaining when he is focused and not going off on a tangent.

I don't mind Boomer. I will always have a soft spot for him for having to endure the fuss from Rider fans when he said something of the lines of him hoping the Riders plane crashed. 960 is getting stretched thin on talent and IMO Kerr should replace him if he leaves although he will need a Boomer type personality to offset his straight guy act and that's not Pinder who would maybe be a better fit with Steinberg.

If he does go there I wonder how long until they pair him up with Walker?

Do you know something I don't? Why does he make your skin crawl? He's a mild mannered sports geek.

I've always enjoyed boomer and Rhett in the morning, Pinder takes all the jokes like a champ. Boomer gets the best stories out of Rhett and his interviews with the coaches are always on par. Hope he sticks around

Nothing that needs to be hashed out in a forum. Let's just say his style irritates me.

He 100% deserved that fuss. People shouldn't say that garbage ever, let alone on air. I'm no Boomer fan, but even if I was, I don't think I'd be holding a soft spot for him for that of all things.

You know what I find to be extremely rude and thoughtless? When the morning sports talk show DJ/Lead talks crap about how stupid most the listeners are, then makes fun of the guy hired by the corporation (rogers) to try to make sure that they/he are really getting through to the listeners.
I have had to restrain myself from writing e-mails to the station to question the thought process of belittling the listeners/texters (though I never have contacted the show in any form). I have chosen to switch back and forth between the 770 and 960 as soon as I can no longer stand Boomer( rather than sending mean spirited emails) . I do not wish ill will toward anyone, but I know what I like, and he does not do it for me. (opinion)

Stick to sports (and 95% Flames) and they are solid. Although, the best part of the morning show are still the segments with Friedman and Duha. Brunt talks ways too much about baseball for me.

I disagree 100%, I love that part of the show! There's only so much sports we can talk about imo. It's a nice change of pace.

what is all this belittling the listeners stuff? I've listened to this show almost daily and have never gotten that impression.
I like the show and would miss Boomer. They're the best when they're all together but that has become annoyingly rare. Where is pinder this week? Boomer was in Vegas or something before, Warrener seems like he is like optional.
They take tangents about 2x longer than they should, and they really really beat dead horses. But other than that, it's a solid show.

This.
Its ridiculous to want the same 3 guys to sit and talk about the exact same subject for 4 hours everyday. They talk about the Flames from all angles as well as the rest of the NHL. They cover baseball with a heavy Jays content obviously and they nail the CFL when its relevant and necessary. No they don't talk NBA because every single study tells them it would fail big time in Calgary.
Thats what gets ratings and Boomer gets the best in the business. I think the show is terrific for what it is, and all the little schticks they have ongoing only add to it. He just recently signed a new deal so I hope he stays. If not, I wish him nothing but the best as he will do well where ever he goes.

That's when I really started to like Boomer. Rider fans still lose their minds over that comment. Like he might have jinxed the plane or something. Buffoons.

To be fair, I believe I am the only one who has brought up the belittling of the listeners.
Next time they have "ask Rhett" or the "Text Line", listen to the way he references the target audience, complete alienation. IMHO.
I hope he gets a raise and keeps his job (but moves to TO), I am just done listening to him.
The way he and Rhett team up on Pinder, I know it is a rouse, but one I am extremely tired of. The Bully rhetoric is no longer acceptable.
