Kane being a little bitch is the only reason it went public. He could of manned up and just put his clothes in the dryer like every other player before him that it's happened to. Instead he walks out on his team in the middle of a playoff push.
When was the last time a player walked out on his own teammates in the middle of the season? I would think most teams will stay far away from this guy.

As for taking his ball and going home, the writing is on the wall. If I was him I would do the same thing. You are obviously not wanted in the dressing room anymore so he isn't going to risk playing injured for his team and will get his surgery.

You would quit on your team too?

The Jets' management, for letting this issue fester for so long, already has egg on their face. Now you're suggesting they get Semin on their face?

Yup. Because I am a 23 year old professional hockey player who can get surgery to fix my shoulder and be ready for the next team I play for next season. Not risk my future for a bunch of guys who don't want me here.
In honesty the team did it themselves. Obviously the guy didn't want to be there but they kept him, and something set him off and he is in the wrong for leaving and not playing that day but he is NOT in the wrong for getting his surgery now.

Evander Kane: tracksuit gate. UPD: opts for surgery. out 4-6 months
People are saying, whatever, Kane has to throw his track suit in the dryer, big deal..
Did anyone consider the possibility he hang dries? Or the impact this could have on the wear/lifespan of his tracksuit?
Edit: Suggesting Kane shouldn't be having surgery is ridiculous - remember us crapping on the Oil for not addressing RNH's nagging issue? Remember our own Sam Bennett, currently in recovery from a shoulder surgery? Come on. Maybe he was willing to play through it for the sake of playoffs, but you can't blame the guy one but for opting for surgery at this point. He has a future to consider as well.

As did Roy on the Canadians.
Everyone hates Kane and thus is getting this treatment IMO.

Personally I probably wouldn't, I would want to play in my first NHL playoff game.
But if my injury was serious enough that the pain I was playing through was significant I might prioritize getting myself healthy, opposed to playing for a team that clearly doesn't want me to be there.
And really I doubt there would have been a trade now anyways. A team in contention isn't going to want to risk moving assets for an already injured player who could shut it down at any time, and a team at the bottom likely would rather wait until the offseason then move for an unhealthy asset now.

I took that as a tongue in cheek response to the way some sports bloggers *cough* Puck Daddy *cough* were quick to draw a parallel between Evander Kane being black and the rubbish Macleans article on Winnipeg's being Canada's poster-child for racism run amok.

They can get better value for Kane in the offseason. More contenders

They have been doing that for the last three/four years.

Well this has worked out terribly for Winnipeg. Big trade asset for this season gone... but they at least those big bad vets got to teach him a lesson.

He should think about his future and use this opportunity to reform his behavior instead of trying so hard to the league bad boy.
He needs to learn what it means to be a professional real quick, or he's not gonna last. People don't put up with his type of behavior in hockey, because as you can see, its disruptive and bad for the team and organization.

All of which he can do for the new team that trades for him. He is obviously done in Winnipeg.
I think the best thing to do now is to get his surgery, stay out of the media, and train hard.
