I think tossing his outfit in the shower was probably not the best way to go about this by the leadership group but I can only assume Kane was attempting to poke the bear wearing the track suit in the first place as he knew those close were against the rules. Again this is the fault of management for not dealing with this issue head on years ago.

so ya I wouldn't mind the Canucks picking up a 22 year old proven (at the very least) 20-25 goal scorer whose value is likely as low as it's ever going to be
I think the Canucks have employed some of the most classless players in the league over the years but I don't even know if that team would want Kane in the locker room.

it's crazy that these issues with Kane have been ongoing since their Atlanta times and management still did nothing. Cheveldayoff really is a master when it comes to sitting on his hands.

Friedman on Byfuglien from September 22nd:

“The Winnipeg situation is really interesting to me because there have been a lot of rumours about how all those guys get along. I’ll tell you something interesting about Byfuglien. I was told last year when the young guys like Scheifele and Trouba were around, before both got hurt at times, Byfuglien was the guy who was really inclusive to them. He’d always be the guy who would go up to them and say, ‘Hey, do you guys have somewhere to go for dinner tonight,’ whether they were at home or on the road. He was a guy who really helped out with them and was one of the best guys to them. And I heard some people looked at Byfuglien very positively for that.

That team could be a lot better if the GM wasn't so scared to make an impactful trade.
Yup Chevy really f##ked this up. Rumor has it the Jets nearly dealt Kane to the Flyers during the off-season, but the deal fell through at the last minute.

No, there are $20 track suits with $180 Nike logos on them.

Despicable and childish are terms used in hyperbole here. Management is at fault for not nipping this in the bud sooner? yes. Players taking things into their own hands because of inaction by management is hardly despicable behaviour. You're making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Who cares about the what if"s and the Flames, it's not like the locker room ha been nothing but happiness and joy and commradery in the past here either.
I'm just saying that Kane isn't the only one at fault here.

Sure Kane is at fault for breaking team dress code, but it's clear that it isn't the first incident he had with teammates.

Also if Kane felt it was serious enough that he had to miss the game he clearly feels like he is being singled out and bullied by teammates.

My point is that it was handled poorly by Byfuglien and his teammates, and even worse by the coaching staff and management team.

The hockey community likes to act like they support things like anti bullying programs in schools, mental health awareness programs, Right to play etc

But then the hockey community loves to turn a blind eye to things like hazing and bullying in the locker room, and pass it off as "something that happens in hockey" or as "good leadership".

Fact is Kane was being bullied (broken rules or not it is still bullying) and mentally he was worn out enough by it that he felt he had to miss the game.

Just to add to what we already know, in the amount of disrespect Kane has shown to the Jets organization, I witnessed his childishness for myself. While being at the game on my birthday I sat directly behind the Jets bench. While the other players would call the trainers over to pass them their towels, and treat them with respect, Kane would not. I lost count of how many times he just threw the towel behind his back without caring which direction it went. On several occasions, almost even hit the trainers in the face, and the trainer just grumbled every time. I remember thinking, " wow, what a ######, can't believe that's tolerated." Not surprised to see this is an ongoing issue.

Don't want him. Unless you mean Buff.

This bodes will for the Flames, a team in playoff contention is in disarray.

No. No.

Patrick Kane did worse things to a cabby while drunk, but did the right thing and apologized to his teammates, who like him.

Seguin partied too much, but didn't show of to the team or constantly make distractions. Not the same. Evander keeps pressing the issue in purpose.

They're not the same. One is a much worse teammate than the other two.

Hmm... I think this Kane situation is similar in nature to our Phaneuf situation long long ago.

I could be wrong though...

I wouldn't want Kane. I don't really want Phaneuf back either.

Diane surely meant the Canucks with the "hope this just means we get him for cheap" comment, not the Flames.

If anything Kane being gone is probably a good thing for the Jets. He sounds like a locker room cancer so if they got to this point with him, odds are they'll do better without him. Of course he slots right into Vancouver who needs to up the dbag quotient after getting rid of Kesler in the offseason.

Why does it not surprise me that Canucks fans would welcome their "hometown hero" with open arms? You can have him. He will fit right in to your organization.

BTW, Kane will be 24 in August.

Don't turn Kane into a victim here. If anything he is the victim of his own poor attitude. Whether or not the other players actions were mature or professional, Kane brought this all on himself by not being a team member.

Could have been a lot worse, if Buff knew he would be forced to play forward that game. Kane could have ended up with a couple of shiners.
