Icon56 Evander Kane tracksuit saga

guess this kind of deserves its own thread now

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/k...ith-teammates/

Quote:
Evander Kane failed to show up in time for Winnipeg’s game in Vancouver earlier this week following an incident with Dustin Byfuglien and other teammates, Sportsnet has learned.

It was previously believed the Jets had made Kane a scratch for the game in his hometown. Following the 3-2 overtime loss on Tuesday, Paul Maurice termed it a “coach’s decision.”

However, multiple sources familiar with the situation have since indicated that Kane was not on the team’s bus to Rogers Arena and then missed a pre-game meeting. Repeated attempts to reach him were unsuccessful until approximately an hour before puck drop, when Kane answered his cellphone and said he wouldn’t be playing against the Canucks that night.

Earlier in the day, the 23-year-old winger is said to have had a run-in with teammates.

Kane wore a track suit when the Jets players gathered that morning — a violation of team policy. Following a brief workout and stretch, Byfuglien is said to have thrown those clothes into the shower to send a message to his teammate, according to sources.

That was the last the Winnipeg players saw of Kane until the team’s charter flight home.

If true, good on Buff for sending him a message. No one is above the team

Wow. His teammates tossed his tracksuit into the showers.

Pissing off your teammates, especially big Buff is not wise.

I expect more childishness to follow.

Buff is not a dude to trifle with I think. Safe to say Kanes days are number in WPG. no way they he gets back onto that roster without a major change in attitude.

EDIT: Also seems like Kane is done with the Jets too. And, perhaps his Dr's visit today is more for trade purposes.

From that other board... "Apparently Big Buff threw Kane's track suit into the shower." No source as of yet.

once you have made your teammates turn against you like that, you're pretty much gone. With all these reports, the Jets will never get a fair deal for Kane ... not that I'll complain though.

Am I the only one who thinks Byfuglien is just as childish as Kane in this case...great leadership right there

wow, I really like what he can bring on the ice but this is just too much. I'm glad his coach benched him, the deserved it.

He will get traded but the Jets won't get as much as they should based on his talent.

So, is him wearing a track suit similar to me wearing a track suit to work for a client meeting?? I would say yes and I would definitely be in trouble with the boss for something like that.

He has to be a professional, he obviously has problems with that.

I really hope the flames are not making offers for this guy, it isn't worth the risk IMO.

No. Sorry, but Kane is strutting around like he owns the place and flaunting the rules, coaching, management and his teammates have to slap him back into reality.

If anything it shows me that the rest of his teammates are on board as a team and are likely sick of the one guy who isnt helping pull them into the playoffs.

Well, this could not have happened at a better time for Flames fans.

As I've posted before, Kane and his teammates do not get along at all. He doesn't care about anything but himself. A couple years ago the Jets even flew his parents to Winnipeg for a week to try and mediate the situation after a couple near fist fights in dressing room, and it worked for the remainder of that season. Next season? Back to the same.

He's has his clothes chopped up, thrown in showers, thrown in the garbage but he doesn't care. It's as simple as that. He keeps doing it. Dude is a nutcase.
