Man. I didn't get a chance to come on CP today, so I had no idea Wolf was in the lineup. It was great to see him finally play. I know he's the shiny new toy, but I'm really optimistic/hopeful. He can play a role that we need so bad.
It felt good to shut those Coiler fans up in my section.

I'm beginning to wonder. He's really looking like a bust. I just don't see anything in his game that shows he's going to be a good player. He really looks more like a guy that was drafted in the 4th round than first overall. I know he has a hard shot but otherwise there's absolutely nothing about his game that is even remotely close to elite which is surprising for a 1st overall pick.

I was told afterwards, it was a thigh one. And yes, I doubt the socks would do anything. That's almost a freak injury there.

I have no idea how the Oilers have even one single fan left after what they've done the last decade. 8 year double rebuild, three first overalls, a salary cap payroll and still absolutely TERRIBLE.
Anyways, huge win for the Flames. Can't miss out on free points if you want to make the playoffs.

Hey, don't trash 4th round picks like that. Good players come out of that round ie. Gaudreau, Brodie. |

I was saying wow because of your edit that in formed me it was a thigh cut. The socks may have helped if it was mid to lower thigh. My speculation would be just above the sock . Wolf might already wear Kevlar socks as far as we know since he is a crash and bang player.

There's no way the Oilers should have drafted him. Trade down, gain some assets and draft a d-man. They could have had Trouba or another decent d-man plus another asset or two. Nope..........gotta draft the offensive forward. Looks good on them.

Can't believe I'm about to say this... But I thought Raymond and Byron (especially in the third) had really good games. I also thought Bollig and Engelland finally contributed positively with their fights.
Never thought the Flames played terrible at any point, but something was a little off those first two periods.

Also, wasn't at the game, but visually (pun intended) it looks as though there's less and less Oilers fans showing up to these games...

Man, that team gets rattled way too easily. Thought they actually looked like an (albeit bad) NHL team for the first 40 minutes but as soon as Byron scored they folded faster than Superman on laundry day.

 I love beating Edmonton!

I don't get it either. My friend here in Vic has been a fan since the 80's ( he was born and raised in Calgary so he is twice the evil). Every year he says you just wait and see next year. Well, he's been saying this for 7 years and I'm still waiting....

Among the obvious stars of the game, i.e. Brodie had wheels all night long, I thought Raymond had an excellent outing. Just some real drive and nifty plays.
I was happy for the comeback as a friend texted me after the second to say it was over. I said, "Edmonton is no good, not a chance, total comeback in the third". Called it perfectly.
