Makes you feel pretty good knowing the Flames' future down the middle is Bennett, Monahan and Backlund. Backlund with another solid game and a beauty pass on the 4th goal. Loved it.

Hiller with another solid game.

Eberle played the best game I've seen play in a long time. If he did that more often he'd be a huge asset for that team, either as a team leader or as an asset in a trade to make the team better.

Wolf was ok, big body, some nice scoring chances. Nothing fantastic, but a nice option to have.

Doesn't matter how many times we watch the Oilers play, it's pure craziness that the product we see is an accumulation of an 8 year rebuild. It's hard to put into words that this is what you get with that many #1 picks and that many years being at the bottom end of the standings. How pathetic. No end in sight, either.

So far they are just calling it a Lower Body injury. He was evaluated and appeared to be standing without an walking boots/casts/other for the post game interviews.

Must have happened in the corner in the Oilers zone when he was battling for the puck on that first shift in the third.

This is why kevlar socks should be mandatory!

Edit: Was just told that the cut was on his thigh. Ow.

Hockey Night's post game show tonight has been great. That segment with Strombo taking to Nash, Doughty, and Stamkos was really entertaining.

Aaron Vickers @AAVickers
David Wolf was a little excited post-game: "With a win in my first NHL game nothing can ruin my day, even a little injury like that."

Aaron Vickers @AAVickers
Wolf: “To reach the NHL was always my dream growing up back home in Germany. It’s an unbelievable feeling to just be a part of it tonight."

Love the organizational culture that's developing: Never give up.

With a young team going forward that's what builds winners.

I was thinking that Yakupov might be a guy who could be saved on another team but man was he a peripheral player tonight.

The flames are a young team. After so many years of retread vets and praying we could ride Iginla, I can hardly believe it.

And the culture change speaks for itself.

630 Ched needs to do their homework. They have no idea Colborne plays the wing and they think he was signed as an FA.

When that puck bounced over his stick I had fears that miss would cost us and thankfully it didn't.

Wow. That's a high skate. Kevlar socks might not stop that. Depending on how high it was the cup probably saved the wolf from a nurturing.
