Putting a guy on the minors only takes care of $925K on the cap. They have a $4.8M hit in terms of dead space with him in the AHL

Glencross is expiring but I'm sure would re-up with LA (of any team), and Raymond is half as expensive as Richards, so cap-wise it makes sense. Sven could still be seen as a valuable asset to some teams given the offensive success he showed at the NHL level up until his demotion last fall.
You have to keep in mind what it would cost to take Toffoli off the Kings (even with the Richards dump), it'll cost a Glencross at least. Raymond would be the filler going the other way, though he could find a groove with LA, but the Kings could see value what Glencross brings, and get a young piece on the fringe of breaking in with Sven.
I don't think LA cares for our bottom pairing d-men, so I don't think that'll fly if we want to pry Toffoli from them.

Saying 'good deal' does not belittle you - it refers to the proposal. If you don't want your trade proposals to be criticized, don't propose them.

Glencross is highly unlikely to waive for a team below the Flames in the standings.

I like how the no votes spiked after it was announced that he cleared, oddly enough though, a couple of late yes votes came in.

Which is why it would be more beneficial to dump him on another team. I don't believe LA wants to pay someone over 4 million to play in the minors. This is a temporary solution, while they work out a deal.

Uhh, what? You don't think he would waive to go play in LA with Darryl Sutter again? That's crazy. Wow. LA is ONE point behind us. Plus they have have the ability to turn it on in the playoff push.

I dont think they can do that unless theres some sort of CBA circumvention going on.
I mean, if they did things like that it might explain why the Oilers can never get a trade done.

It is reported that Glencross is not wanting to leave Alberta. He signed when Darryl was the GM but never played for him as a coach. In addition he is what a 3rd liner in LA? Why would he agree to a trade there?
If the Flames want to move Glencross to California look at Anaheim. I don't see Glencross accepting a trade from the Flames unless he is going to a far superior team.

Yeah well I get a good chuckle when people toss Glencross in proposals thinking he is going to waive for anybody. Why would he leave a top line position on a team he has been with for nearly 7 years and took a big discount to stay, in his home province? A team he has missed the playoffs with for 5 years but is finally turning a corner? I just don't see hi waiving unless it is for a top team. Why leave now? If the Flames don't want to meet his contract demands he leaves in the summer. He holds all the power

In addition to the contract itself, and it's been mentioned a few times, with the extremely weak (and weakening) CAD due to the collapse in oil and subsequent BOC rate cut, it's going to really affect the cap which further adds to the Kings woes with the Richards contract. They really, really need that cap space. Some of the trades offered in this thread don't look so ludicrous when you take this into account. This shouldn't be overlooked - and CAD looks to be under even more pressure for the foreseeable future.

There was also a rumour that he (Glencross) is expecting a child in April. Has that ever been confirmed?
If so, I don't think he waives his cause easily.

Im pretty sure the Flames were supposed to be lower in the standings than we are right now, than at the start of the year. If its not the Oilers, Glencross should feel blessed
