Glencross is not going to get a 1st round pick. Please disabuse yourself of that notion.

It doesn't seem likely, but never say never. Find a GM who is desperate for some scoring, play up the fact that Glencross has consistently played with a 25-30 goal pace for several years, let desperation kick in and hope to get lucky. If we did get a first round offer, that is one price where I would pull the trigger and hope it doesn't hurt the team's aspirations for this season too much.
The other is potentially a package deal centred around Glencross and say someone like Granlund for a decent defensive prospect. But I wouldn't hold out hope on that either.

That happening combined with Glencross waiving to go there is very remote.
Also the GM would know glencross would waive to go there so the offer would be less.

The NTC might hurt his value a little because it limits the teams he can go to, but the Flames are also not desperate to trade him. If another team doesn't make a respectable trade proposal he's not getting traded.

If Glencross wants a $4.5m x 5 year contract (which he could very well get), that's $22.5m total.
If the Flames gave him something like $5.9 x 3, that's $17.7m total, which is pretty close in overall salary, he gets the money sooner, and he still has two more years to try to make up the difference.
Plus it lets him stay in his home province for a team on the upswing.
The Flames will have a quality NHL player, Glencross gets his money, and management has shown that if you scratch their backs in a totally-violating-the-spirit-of-the-CBA fashion, then they will scratch yours.

He's worth more than a late 2nd (50-60th pick)

I believe any team that wants Glencross beleives themselves to be a Cup contender (and that's the kid of team he'd want to waive his NMC for). So gauge the level of the pick, in whatever round, accordingly.
And $5.9 million is crazy talk.

You are making an assumption on the latter statement. On the former, we're at the point where, unless he's willing to take a one or two year value deal, Glencross surely knows that he's moving on. If not March 2, then in the summer. So while you can play up his NMC as a major stumbling block, the reality may not be as you see it. Whether he waives will likely depend on where the interested parties are. Someone like Pittsburgh? He probably goes. Another bubble team - like say Winnipeg? Then potential refusal to waive may become a factor.

When I look at the list of UFAs, and eliminate the probable re-signings, Glencross looks pretty good to a contending team. He's relatively young, decent skills, can play throughout the lineup, incredibly cheap for the rest of the season (important because I'd think most contenders are close to the cap). He's a winger (I think most contenders won't want to mess with the centre position or are already deep).
So the price should be pretty good.

I think the next conversation that should be had with Glencross' agent is what teams would he be willing to waive his NMC clause for should somebody make an offer. That could eliminate a lot of unnecessary conversation for Treliving.

I would offer 3 yrs for $5 million annual. Take it or leave it. If the Flames do re-sign Glencross they really need to move out Raymond to make room for Sven/Granlund.

I remember saying something to this effect at last year's deadline re: Cammy.
Maybe Burke reportedly refusing that 3rd rounder last year because Cammy was worth more, and ultimately getting nothing for him, will help with the Glencross situation.

I have not. I have to say though that last years deadline was just plain weird. I'm guessing Glencross would be a good fit in Philly if he indeed decided to waive his no trade.

The point being that GMs are in fact willing to give up assets at the deadline, contrary to what some people around here think.
