I'm sure they knew but chose to do it anyway because they knew the potential punishment would likely be minimal and they would be better off getting to Nashville the night before the game, rather than travelling that morning.

Of course, they still lost the game 4-1, so any benefit they got from getting to Nashville early didn't help. Meanwhile, Chicago had to travel to Denver for their game, which is further than Philly to Nashville. The Hawks won their game 5-2 despite (presumably) travelling that morning. So, it's not an exact science.

We must not depict socialism as if socialists will bring it to us on a plate all nicely dressed. That will never happen. Not a single problem of the class struggle has ever been solved in history except by violence. When violence is exercised by the working people, by the mass of exploited against the exploiters — then we are for it!

As mentioned in the link at the start of the thread, the Ducks practice has already been investigated and cleared by the league, as it was organized by the players with no involvement or organizing efforts from coaches or other team staff.

Dissolve the franchise.

Have a dispersal draft.

Burn the arena down, and sow the ground with salt.

They traded a day off with family during the holidays for work, big deal. They gained nothing from it.

Also, you make it sound like they are pissed off about it and tying to fight the punishment, when they aren't

All the teams were sent a memo before the holidays that outlined the three day break. No excuse.

James Mirtle @mirtle
NHL fines Flyers "for the team's travel to Nashville on December 26, 2014." Mandated day off in CBA.

Strange no $ amount given... maybe this where Ian White's missing $5 goes.

They probably spent more for the hotel rooms, meals, and players' per diems for that one extra day than the cost of the fine.

Hextall claims he knew about the rule and that the players approached him and asked to fly a day earlier. Hextall then claims he risked the fine because he thought the advantages of being their earlier outweighed the fine.
