Damn. This was one where I just couldn't stay awake for living in the Eastern time zone. I went to bed with about 4 minutes left in the 3rd and didn't expect to wake up to this news. Amazing. Hopefully this helps get their confidence back.

I really want to believe that he did it on purpose. As you said, Hudler was pretty far back and it wasn't a very hard pass. Plus, Gaudreau is such an accurate passer. It just seems extremely unlikely though, but he is always surprising me.

Gaudreau was probably one of three guys on this streak who didn't need a good bounce, but that tying goal is the kind of thing that can lift a team. When you see the bounces start to go your way, that belief can come back in a big hurry.
I think Johnny may have been trying to pass way back to Monahan coming in late, which would have been a fantastic play, and almost a sure goal because Quick was committed.

First of all you guys owe me, when it hit three nothing and I hit the bottom of my bottle of whiskey (Ok I might have a drinking problem, thanks 8 game losing streak) I said screw this man, and went to bed (If bed is falling on it missing and hitting the floor and saying screw this man 9 game losing streak my butt).
I woke up in a haze this morning and found out that the Flames had gutted this out and finally got some puck luck.
I sometimes think the problem with Gaudreau is the same problem that a lot of smart offensive players have. They think the game on an entirely different level then their line mates, and it causes plays to die once they leave his stick.
But it would good to see the goal erruption, it was also good to see the Flames finally getting a reward.
I have to think that even Darryl Sutter for all of his cranky exterior, was shaking his head and grinning and muttering inside.

Glad to know that last night wasn't a dream and everyone is still buzzing from the big win.
I think Quick is the best goalie in the league, but man it was oh so sweet to watch him flip out and smash his stick. He must have gone postal in the locker room.
A beautiful sight to see Johnny as the night's 1st star, and hopefully the first of many.
