Not to be obtuse, but why is it "definitely chew"?
Did you see it live or on TV.

Yes, I've seen Treliving a few times, first that I noticed Burke. My wife even glanced over at the TV for a second and mentioned it right away.

I have a couple of broter-in-laws and my father-in-law that chew. I never really thought about it until reading this post, but, it then occurred to me that I've only ever seen them chew in their own home, vehicle and while outdoors on the farm. I can't recall ever seeing any of them chew in a public place or another persons home and they've all been in the Saddledome. Honestly, I could care less if someone wants to chew, but probably best left out of public places.

You cant smoke in the building even if you're the GM.

Personally I feel that they shouldn't be doing it at the arena, nor anywhere cameras are, it just sends the wrong message imo. I also think someone who has gotten to this level of management should know better and try to kick the habit and certainly not do it where the public is going to see it. Just my opinion, I can still have that right? Does it make me a sissy, far from it!

Sorry I'm not directing my post at you. Let me elaborate on my post. My opinion is this, the NHL is a violent sport that grown men impose will, determination, violence, insults, spitting on ice, etc. There is tons of interpretations that can happen from all levels. I think worrying about chewing tobacco on camera or anything else that is already socially accepted is over-sensitivity. You see people drinking alcohol which isn't entirely good for you either but it's accepted. Drinking is a choice and tobacco is a choice. It's not illegal so we should be more concerned with things that are.

Thank you! I definitely get your point, but if the Dome bans chewing tobacco shouldn't management follow the rules. I know the next time I'm there I don't want the guy next to me chewing.lol I don't think chewing is socially acceptable either, seldom do you see someone doing it because it is so gross. Alcohol in moderation is not bad for you whereas chewing tobacco will never be seen as good for you, the carcinogens contained within are well known.
Usually I'm a libertarian when it comes to personal choice but some things I do feel have their place and this is not the place and the two should know better.

Is it banned at the Saddledome? Smoking is, but I've never heard any mention of banning all tobacco products.

It's really gross, but I can't say it's wrong. As others have mentioned, not sure if kids know whats going on.
I kinda feel like if smoking in public is illegal, chewing should be too. And yeah, I know it's not the same cause of the air, but like you mentioned with kids, there are other concerns. And sometimes we have laws just based on good manners and hospitality. On the other hand, it wouldn't be a big deal for me to push for a law like that either. Small issue, no real concern to me.
To be honest, I never noticed that from them before. So probably not a big deal. I do agree though, when you catch it, it's about one of the grossest things ever.

Did anyone see the game when they showed on TV that girl taking a hit off her vaporiser. Pretty sure that wasn't an E-cig.

I would hope it is, can you imagine someone chewing beside you while you watch the game? Lol
See that it isn't banned, surprised about that, guys if someone is chewing beside you there is nothing that can be done.

As long as they weren't spitting on the ground, I doubt I'd even notice.

See, I dont smoke or chew, but I still dont give a rat's ass about other people's kids.
If they see some random person they dont know anything about smoking/chewing/doing coke whatever, that shouldnt mean a damned thing to anyone other than that kid and their parents.
"Whats that man doing?"
"Hes smoking/whatever, you shouldnt do that because these are the consequences."
We're not talking about babies that cant be instructed or spoken to.
If a kid sees something and then mindlessly repeats it no matter what and their parents idly sit by and watch their kid do it then theres really no helping any of them.
