18 year old roommates get up to different things than a 21 and 24 year old I'm sure

Was Monahan being asked to live with a billet a unique situation because he was 18 at the time?

I love Reggie but he is not number retirement worthy

Well the Flames had the hammer in that situation. They told Monahan stay with a billet or we are returning you to junior.

Smid should take #3 and Jooris could take #15, problem solved.
I know Smid likes #5, but #15 for a Defenceman looks ridiculous.
End of my crotchety old man rant.

Let him keep his number until after the season. Good on Jooris. I knew he is going to be staying when they sent Setoguchi to AHL. I hope Granlund next but they have to get rid of another veteran forward or another roster player to keep him all season.

I believe Monahan's mom actually moved to Calgary for the balance of the season instead of him staying with a billet.

Eighty-sixed is perfect for him and will be when his game winning goal on April 11th vs the Jets eighty-sixes San Jose's playoff hopes.

#Flames C Josh Jooris is the latest rookie to be told to get a place. He's moved in with LW Johnny Gaudreau -- and he's keeping No. 86.

Granlund has to step it up a notch. He's been up a while and has tapered off to the point where he could be sent down. Maybe different linemates would help?

Probably moves to a lower number in the summer when other players are gone (Setoguchi, McGrattan, maybe Glencross).

Not to derail but if Glencross leaves does Monahan take #20 or does he stick with 23?

Not that I know Sean, but I think he'd stick with 23.

Well that's cool of Burke. But he'll likely change his mind when more numbers free up..

I wish Monahan would have taken 19, just love that number for number one pivots.
