There are plenty of other female hockey bloggers whose avatar photos are done in a tasteful and flattering manner, some even showing some skin so that's not the issue. She very easily could have cropped it differently so that her breasts were not the focal point.

Right, and because her breasts are in the photo it's considered sexual and unprofessional by certain standards. And who are generally the people setting these standards? That other women conform at varying degrees to these standards do not make the standards objectively justifiable or true.

If a male reporter had a sexualized avatar we'd think it was pretty ######y too would we not?
I know I would, I wouldn't take him seriously.

Right, and if she had said nothing and this kept going on for three months and then it came out people would say "Well how come she's only saying something now. What's her angle?"

I'm not dismissing the abuse she got. Dater's a creep and rightfully so got fired.
My issue is with her avatar which attracted Dater and his creepy comments. There will always be someone out there in twitter land that will find it sexually provocative. If she wants to avoid future creep problems it might be best to change her avatar.

And least there'd be a record of her approaching his employer in a more professional manner instead of riling up the mob.

I'd argue that the standards for what constitutes a sexualized male avatar are much more relaxed than what we see for women. Regardless, she has the right not to be harassed. If you (not you personally) think men are entitled to harass women because of what they're wearing or what image they have as their avatar, you're part of the culture that enables harassment.

You only need to look at her post sequence to see her true intentions. It's obvious.
Situation could of easily been handled WITHOUT her claim to fame.

Hey Rubecube, I'm going to make this quick and easy for you.
I am a female (Aeneas, Locke or Peanut can confirm). I worked in media for the Flames and Hitmen (Aeneas also can confirm).
Her avatar is unprofessional. You are spewing BS about standards and have no clue what you are talking about. Please stop because as a women, your comments are more offensive then the situation at hand.

Or maybe instead of blaming her, blame the culture and attitudes like yours that basically excuses poor behaviour on the part of men depending on how a woman is dressed. What you're saying is akin to the old "what was she wearing" accusation when a woman is sexually assaulted.

Women don't need to earn respect, but a man or woman can lose the right to plea to not be objectified by sexualizing themselves.
And for the record, if James Rodriguez used this as his avatar, he'd have no right to complain at the likes of Ms. Comacho sexualizing him and commenting on his body
