Lifetime Suspension

For the people who know the NFL were there any upsets this week? Friend just texted me he got 14 out of 14 on the pools. Wondering if there will be a bunch of winners.

Thought so. He doesn't really know the NFL so I assumed he just went for the favorites. Hopefully a nice chunk though.

Payout is weak for the last Pools pot. I have a winning ticket as well and it is only $185. I was hoping it would be much more.

Were the Browns, Bengals or Ravens favorite? Those were really the only hiccups.

Also I find it amusing that when the Seahawks won the west at 7-9 and got to host the Saints, people (media) were freaking out, calling for immediate realignment, etc. It's like people have no concept of things that are cyclical.
Pretty crazy that only a few years later it's setting up for the exact opposite to happen - Seahawks forced to go on the road to 7-9 New Orleans (and lose, hopefully).

The big difference this year is it could be one of the 49ers, Cowboys or Packers being left out so 5-10-1 Carolina can get in. With one of the NFL's true big boys getting shafted, that could lead to some change. And if Carolina or a 6 win NFC South team makes it and gets destroyed, then change could be coming. Had Seattle gotten destroyed by the Saints we would have talked about change a lot more then.

This one is going to be an exciting finish.

Maybe. The 10-6 Giants missed out when the 7-9 Seahawks got in.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were suspended over this.

Time for the Colin Campbell "Wheel of justice" to make a reappearance.
They may...Raiola fully admits to cutting a guys knees out on a nothing play and having punched him in the back of the head earlier = no fine. Not that it's a huge deal in a physical sport, but with the hypocritical attitude of the league, to ignore it, so who knows what happens to these guys....for dropping names of sponsors not associated with the league as the most egregious crime in the league's eyes.
Lynch's "Yeah" responses (many to non "yeah" questions) after last game should technically satisfy the league, even though the week before he gave a couple phone interviews that were pretty enlightening.

I doubt there will be any suspension. The public perception of the press conference was that it was great and the public perception is the only thing the NFL is worried about anymore. A simple $25k fine will do the job.

RGIII has been benched and now the debate can begin: Was that the single worst trade in NFL history? They traded as many first round picks (3) as years he'll be on the team. Insane.

Only time will tell but I still think it's not worse than the Herschel Walker deal.

I would say Ricky Williams' 3 years in New Orleans and Herschel Walker's 3 years in Minnesota were worse.
NO traded their entire draft plus 1st and 3rd the following year
MIN traded ..... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herschel_Walker_trade

Am I crazy to say that if I were the GM of a team with a questionable QB situation, and RG3 could be had cheap, I would absolutely take a flyer on him? He's just two years removed from an excellent rookie season, was rushed back from an injury, had to deal with one coach who didn't like him and another that may not know what he's doing, not to mention the worst owner/fanbase/local media in sports, and he's already being written off as a failure? His supposed baggage doesn't sound that different than a number of other star players and seems like it's just a result of being put under a microscope by people desperate to find a reason to dislike him.
