Look I don't think the cop is right in this, it's tragic he was killed but the people want this cop hung! but the Grand Jury didn't have enough evidence, leave it at that! obviously not enough to go to trial

But the police sure set up the situation in a way that would be most likely to cause problems. Again--why announce the verdict at 8pm on a clear, unseasonably warm evening? Why would you not announce this midday? When you can see the protesters and there isn't the cover of night to make it easy for idiots to rile up an already tense crowd.

Announcing this late in the evening, with hours of buildup, days after announcing you were calling in the National Guard, all of this was going to raise the tension level of the protesters--the authorities have not handled any of this situation well, from the shooting onward.

Protesting is the right move. Rioting isn't. But hey, I am not a Black person in racist America so kind of hard to judge.

I don't think this was a brilliant strategy, but the moment the grand jury came to the decision to not indict, this protest was inevitable. It would have happened at nightfall no matter what time the decision was released.

Not always effective, but it has made it possible for women to vote, for people of color to vote, etc. When the Koch brothers are busy buying up every election they can get their hands on, when Republicans are gerrymandering districts into oblivion, when the GOP is fighting to make sure low income/youth/people of color cannot vote--protest is just about all the American public has left.

Don't know why you would think it is a joke? I mean, the grand jury had access to all of the information gleaned from the science, from the witnesses, from experts in gun related shootings etc. These men and women did not think there was enough good, reliable evidence, or that the science in this case was so damning that they decided it would have lost had it gone to trial.

After all of the emotions are taken out of something like this you let the science speak and I'm guessing the science portrayed a different act taking place than what the witnesses were saying. Such things like DNA inside the vehicle, blood patterns and just maybe some contrary witness accounts most likely due draw a separate conclusion than the people on the streets wanted. We know what the vocal witnesses have said but we have no idea if there were other witnesses that saw something completely different.

And?

They should have let this go to trial and in the public eye even if they felt there wasn't the evidence. That may not be required by law, but it's not against it. They're perfectly aware that this is an incredibly volatile situation and deciding this is a closed door process was just asking for problems.

If the witnesses lied, show it in court, and let people see it. The lack of transparency made this a lot worse than it had to be.

Released pictures of Officer Wilsons injury as shown to the Grand Jury. Doesn't look like a lot of dammage but it does look like he was punched in the face....... maybe?

America convicts people every single day on accounts of eye witnesses.

But not enough for a cop to be convicted I guess.

Probably evidence that Brown wasn't just standing there with his hands in the air saying "don't shoot".

Did you follow the case at all? He allegedly did that AFTER the punch so no clue what those pics which have been posed before was supposed to mean.

Eh, I don't believe that's all that happened. Black kid was dumb, and it cost him his life; this happens hundreds of times a year based on the graphic I posted. But the handling of this situation has been horrendous and the prosecutor's statement tonight was the icing on the cake. Brutal.

Japanese kids are dumb too and British kids as well and somehow manage not to get shot by cops.
