Sens were a very quick team. However, their offence consists of gently kicking pucks to the net. Very light power but dangerous positioning. Karlson played very well.

We were the better team.
I don't think you watched the same game as we did. First of all, Hudler played with Gaudreau and Granlund. As for Wideman and Russell, do you mean Engelland and Smid?

I agree with the reffing part though.

Boy, if Hudler could have finished tonight, we'd be talking about a phenomenal game by JG.

This team is making it very hard to temper my expectations.

Cautious optimism is losing out to fanaticism.

I didn't realize that!
Jooris also attended and was released from the Bruins camp the year before that.

Calgary was try #3 to get into the NHL.

The best chances were against the 4th line IMO. And Monahan's line plays against the best players on the other team if Hartley gets his way, so it's not that surprising they would have some chances. And Hudler doesn't play on Monahan's line.

If Byron/Jooris/Sven keep it up, and if Colborne, Raymond and Backlund or Stajan return, we will really be able to roll 4 lines well.

reffing was real bad all around. aside from lots of penalty BS there was a ton of icings that looked like they hit flames or sens players all night

man granlunds goal was sick. highlight of the night for me

Crazy to think that we've scored 10 more goals than Anaheim, and 14 more than LA so far.

"How did that end up in the net?" Dumb call.

Interesting stat I'm following this season.

Markus Granlund: 8GP 3G 3A 6P
Mikael Granlund: 16GP 2G 5A 7P

Small sample size so far, but I hope we got the better Granlund.

Flames have the #1 offense in the west.

Yup, #1

That's a lot of goals to bank in off asses!

All we need now is Burke to publicly shame Lowe, ending in Kev offering we swap firsts for the next three years.

Just got back:
- Was really worried about Giordano. He got a slight applause when the camera focused on him to start the second.
- Baertschi/Byron have great chemistry. You can see Baertschi is always looking to spring him him when he has the puck in their own end. Byron's goal was no exception. Please keep them together Hartley.
- Gaudreau is quiet on points but he is still amazing. Bar one play (a drop pass to nobody in particular), it seems that he's just playing on a different level. The staple for him seems to be a cross ice pass from the faceoff circle to a defence. Nobody else seems to catch that play...it's just a matter of time before he starts ending up on the scoresheet again.
- Anderson would scare me as a Sens fan. He was wandering in the first and I commented to my friend that he'd get burned sooner later. Then came the 3rd...
- Monahan keeps looking better defensively. Last year he was quiet...now he's making the right plays and notable for them. He's playing his size a bit and, while not being overly physical or exerting too much energy, is starting to become a really effective board player.
- I think everything that can be said Jooris already has, but what a night for him. He's always in the right spot, winning faceoffs, and working extremely hard. I'd be in favour of him and Granlund swapping spots as I remember he had great chemistry with Gaudreau early.

This was definitely a "**** you refs" game.. with the some of the calls going against the Flames and the noncalls against the Senators that went on this game and to go beast mode in the third period, I'll be sleeping good tonight.

To be fair to him, his context was 'at the beginning of the season people were thinking Sam Bennett is here, another good piece after this year', then he got cut off by the banter but he was in no way talking about tanking now.

Love Granlund. He's gonna come out of the shadows and shock the hockey world when he turns out to be the better brother. And after all that hype over Mikael... Would make for a real good story.

To Damien Cox and anyone else who may be disappointed we aren't tanking for a top draft pick in the next draft:

Not enough praise for baertschi on Byron's goal by the announcers. That was an incredible pass!!! Unreal. It landed flat on his stick at full stride! Way to go Sven!
