And why not?
He does it all.
Hes a solid, complete defenceman.

I'm happy to have him on my fantasy team... and on the Flames
Quote:
It is worth noting that entering the games on Monday night, the Flames were outscoring opponents 16-8 at even strength when Giordano and partner TJ Brodie were on the ice and were being outscored in those situations 18-16 when they were not.

Was about to post the same quote Eldrick. Unreal numbers for those two.

Gio is just a great all round story from start to finish. Not to long ago if anyone would have said that Gio might be in the conversation to be the #1 defenseman in the world's best league one day, you'd be endlessly mocked. Makes it even better that his partner is trending to be a #1 defenceman also.
Even more awesome that we have our entire top 4 on that list.
Gio - 1
Brodie - 17
Wideman - 41
Russell - 57

Surprised Dustin Byfuglien isn't higher due to versatility to play RW or defence.

Was this the Flames' Mark Giordano or one of the four Mark Giordanos that play for the Oilers?

O Captain, my Captain!
As an added bonus, some classic Oiler fan No-Goodness:

To quote Temporary User, who wrote this several years ago after Gio left for the KHL:
"I will eat a pubic hair if Giordano ever plays another game in the NHL."
Not holding him to it; just happy he could be so wrong.

30th for some strange reason. It could be a typo where they actually meant 300th. I know it's hard to believe but he's the only Oilers defenceman on the list.

Brodie should be top 10, though. Let's be real now. Playing next to Gio he's bound to have a solid 40+ point season, maybe even more.

Anyone have the original "Oilers have 5 Giordanos" post? That was a doosie.

Now I cannot help but wonder what the flip side of this is. What are those same stats for our bottom pairing D?

It is an easy mistake to make. I know I put Oilers at 30th all the time.
