I thought that was actually Johnny in the original movie poster at first.

When you're getting out shot by the Panthers nearly 2-1 (attempts), that's not good.

If it wasn't for Florida being terrible overall, they should have won. The Flames have to get better because this isn't really sustainable for a long period of time.

Thanks AC for the highlights. Turned on expecting to see more form SportsNet, but they filled their hockey update time on a crappy Leafs team and only showed enough highlights of the Flames game to think Bouma was the story.

Too bad Edmonton isn't playing again tonight. An Oilers loss is always the cherry on a Flames win sundae.

Bottom chart is shift times. Gives you a visual look at who played with who, and who (Baertschi, Bollig, Segotuchi) didn't play at all in the third.

However - Did Bouma really miss the first 3/4s of the third period?
Not that it particularly matters - but that graph shows Corsi which is all shot attempts. Fenwick excludes blocked shots. Flames were -21 in Corsi and -13 in Fenwick.

It's a small saving grace admittedly, but at least they were +2 in Goal Differential.

Nice to see the boys win! Last time I saw Flames were down 1-0 but I had some stuff to do so I had to miss the game

What isn't sustainable? Shots or not, didn't think the Flames were out played today, but it was a sloppy game. As for the rest of the season, after the first few games, I think the Flames have been relatively full marks for their record, so I'm not sure what you mean by not sustainable. As a collective, they are playing well, I guess well see if they can keep it up.

Anyone listening to the fan post game call in? Robert was a rambling mess.

Montaya was rather sievey... but so was Ramo (or at least not on his game, some of those were flukey). Its hard to say. Is there anywhere that tracks scoring chances by game? I know that is the go-to move for teams with bad advanced stats, just curious how they line up this early in the year.

Yep, we sucked just a little less than they did. It's not the sort of game you want to build any sort of false confidence from. They shouldn't come away happy with their game. Up to the coaching staff to keep the message clear.

Hey, they're finding ways to win games they shouldn't really be winning so far.
Who cares if it's sustainable. Losses will happen, but I don't think we'll see the long losing streaks we did like last season.

For me, its noticeable when the goalies start to dip in form, because we've gone from relatively tight at the back to conceding 9 in 2 games. And not all of that can be contributed to the guys in front of Ramo and Hiller. Lets hope this is just a temporary blip from both.

Haven't really noticed Hillers play slip yet, Ramo was not good tonight though.

He's also 29th overall in scoring, which is unexpected. On pace for 71p atm.
