Speed and puck moving ability. Tampa's forwards are fast, but they're defense isn't the best at dealing with quick, fast paced play, at least that's what killed them against the Habs in the playoffs

Diaz did have a lot better game last time than one before that. I think it's a good idea to see if he can build from that. Which means you can't sit him too long. And last time it was Engelland who made room for Diaz, so now it's Smids turn I guess.

Smid could also still be feeling the effects from that hit/tackle on Tuesday.

Hoping for a big break out game for Sven. Just want to see him show that he cares! If the hands aren't there, skate hard, hit hard. He just needs to let his instincts take over.

Sven should take note. Things can change quickly if he starts putting some enthusiasm back into his game.

I like the look of our top two lines.
Another top 6 forward line (Colborne - Raymond - Backlund) isn't even playing.
Pretty good depth on the Flames this year

I kind of wish they would swap Jones and Setoguchi on the 3rd and 4th lines. Jones isn't amazing but I think he's miles ahead of Setoguchi and could be the small difference Sven needs to get that spark. But I do love that they moved Jooris up. He's earned it.

exactly. I also think that the success of Jooris could be helpful when the Flames try to sign college UFAs in the future.

I'm sure the Jooris move is more about Jooris than it is about Jones. I think Jones has been pretty good, his size and physicality played a role against the Caps. He's not a score off the rush kinda guy, he's a straight line, garbage goal, right place right time kind of guy.

Lightning lines will be the same like last game. Killorn is still out, Drouin remains on the 4th line, Bishop gets the start.
Bryan Burns @BBurnsNHL
#TBLightning lines unchanged: Stamkos-Filppula-Callahan; Johnson-Palat-Kucherov; Boyle-Brown-Morrow; Namestnikov-Paquette-Drouin
Bryan Burns @BBurnsNHL
D-pairings at #TBLightning morning skate: Garrison-Gudas, Sustr-Brewer and Stralman-Carle w/ Barberio working in w/ the last pairing.
Bryan Burns @BBurnsNHL
Ben Bishop first #TBLightning goalie off ice this morning. He'll likely make 4th start in a row tonight vs. Flames.
Bryan Burns @BBurnsNHL
Alex Killorn on ice for today's #TBLightning morning skate in a red no-contact jersey.

I don't know.
to me Jones is more likeable than Setogouchi because he always has a friendly smile on his face.

I remember watching that game a few years back against tampa. Think Iggy and Juice had Hat tricks in that game. Good times.

I like the dynamic of having a bigger no nonsense, physical line like the Monahan trio, and then sending out the smaller, talented zippy guys like the Johnny trio.
And then the Byron trio to distract the Lightning with a multitude of doinks off the post.

Just thought I would check something to keep an eye on: Tyler Johnson has 9 assists in his past 5 games. Dangerous, dangerous player to be aware of right now.

Poor Byron, poor poor Byron. The guy needs a little more finish. Could be the leading goal scorer right now if he even potted half of his break away attempts.
