Love the way Gaudreau is playing this year. Rookie's look great this year for our team.

Fun fact for all qualifiers (3 games or more this season)----- Granlund is currently tied for 1st in rookie scoring PPG with Forsberg at 1.000 and Jooris is 3rd at .714 No way you can send them down if they keep playing like this. Would love to see them dominate that stat and have 3 of the top 5 positions kind of like we have in defense pts this season with Brodie (1st tied), Gio (1st tied) and Wideman (6th tied).

Glad I got my bet in before the season when he was still 10/1! I actually had to request that they add him as they originally only had: Drouin, John Gibson, Kuznetsov, Teravainen, Ekblad, Draisaitl, Reinhart, Bennett, Domi and Henrik Samuelsson.

You only got 10/1 on an add in?!?! that seems really low to me

I agree - I was expecting more like the 25/1 that Max Domi was at or 35/1 where Samuelsson was. It was just before the season started so there was already some hype around him - Down Goes Brown had just done an article naming him the obvious Calder pick from those without betting odds.

For what it is worth, in his draft class, Gaudreau has moved up to 21st in points.

Also nice to see Granlund starting to make his way up the list.

Looking at the PPG of those above him once I sorted that list .. It's just a waiting game now

A bunch of the players have at least half a season on him. I could see him finishing top 15 when all is said and done this year if he continues his progression.

The only concern I have with JG is that the college season was so short even in comparison with a CHL one. He's got a long grinding season ahead. He needs to stay mentally tough and physically in shape.

Johnny is also 41st in scoring in the entire league ahead of toews, benn, thornton & spezza

Johnny should be a Calder candidate this season with how productive he has become. I don't even think we've seen him at the top of his game yet.

Yeah, I don't know about that. Forsberg is a fantastic player, having an amazing season and leading his team in scoring.

I predict that the ROY will be a three-horse race when all said and done between Gaudreau, Forsberg and one of Drouin or Seversen.

Ekblad may end up in the mix. Calder voters tend to be impressed by rookie d-men who play over 21 min a game.

Yes and no. The last defenseman to win the trophy was Tyler Myers in 2010, and he is only the second to do so in the past 15 years.
