Glen Healy Is No Good

Healy was on Jeff Blair Show today on the Fan 590 and again was railing against Johnny Hockey's handle. He said "that guy needs to get a new nickname like Johnny Shinny or something".

He still doesn't understand a) it was Johnny's college handle that has just followed him to the NHL and b) that this kid has the elite talent to justify continuing with this name.

I wonder how long it will take Healy to cry uncle on this one - or is he so stubborn he won't open his eyes.

Healy, francis, spector, cox are all clear indications that it really doesn't take much hockey knowledge, or paying attention to other markets carefully before providing what they consider "analysis" by quite a few out in sports media.

It's amazing that they get paid to do what they do, while putting in bare minimum time & energy to even have a clue of what they're talking about.

I still wish Boomer or more likely Pinder would have gone off on him when they had him on 960 for not understanding Johnny Hockey was all about his NCAA career and similarities to Johnny Football

I think we can all be sensitive, and hammer announcers etc for not like their team, but I have to admit that Healy has always seemed to have an odd dislike for all things Calgary.

Can't remember the details exactly, but during the 2004 Wings/Flames series, I think the guy actually went on TV and gave detail to the Flames injuries. No upper body, or lower body, but Warrener has a bum left shoulder.

Who cares about his opinion on Johnny, he just doesn't get it when it comes to the nick name. Anyway, I like that he does play devils advocate sometimes, provides entertainment, but I only really listen to a handful of analysts anyway. I usually tune out at intermission anyway.
