He's made the team! There is no list.

Two goals in his first game back in the AHL. Kid has a bullet of a shot:

I am a big fan of the "Dr. Singh Plastic Surgery Assist." That's good sponsorship.

Poirier really injected some energy into the game with that goal. He tucked it home and gave his team a lift.

Blemish free, those assists. They seem to be removing the wrinkles they had earlier this year.

...Boob job.

That's 6 points in 3 AHL games for Poirier, right? I can't see him staying down there very long if he keeps this up.

But in all seriousness...

Poirier possess a quality we don't currently have. He almost seems like Sam Bennett lite. I hope he gets a shot soon.

Gaudreau - Granlund - Poirier would be so intense.

Imagine the talent Gaudreau could be playing with in future international competitions.

Gaudreau - Eichel - Kane. Damn.

I don't think Gaudreau and Kane would look good together. They both play pretty much the same game and want the puck on their stick.

Beyond Johnny Hockey, Poirier's the other prospect I think is going to turn into something special.

We have a few now.

Exciting times.

Much like when the Canucks had Bure and Mogilny on the team. I forget which coach (they ran through a lot of them) tried them on the first line, then broke them up. After the experiment failed, the coach said ruefully: 'What's the point of putting those two together? There's only one puck.'

I don't know about you guys, but I'd love to see a Gaudreau-Byron-Poirier line. Three great two-way guys that can absolutely burn defenders with their speed would be a major handful for most teams.

No disrespect to Byron, but we have better options. Especially for legit top line talent like Gaudreau and Poirier.

That would be a fun line to watch.

Backlund - Poirier on the PK would also be dangerous. Poirier had more SH goals (8, IIRC) than PP goals last season. Backlund had 4 SHG last season.

Your need for speed will be satisfied when you plug-in Bennett between Gaudreau and Poirier next season.

If we do have an '04 season in the making, I nominate Byron to play the role of Donovan.
