This also really reinforces how much we DON'T need guys like McGrattan or Setoguchi. I really hope next year Treleving realizes that he doesn't need to sign any plugs or reclamation projects and sticks with guys already in the system

They can sign me to that contract and I'll sit in the press box every game

I've been listening to the Fan960's coverage from Red Deer and they had Hallett on air. She said she interviewed Hudler once about playing with Sven and Hudler said Sven's the most talented player he's every played with.
That's pretty heady praise considering the guys who've gone through the Detroit system.
FWIW...

Really easy to see the handful of people just looking at stat lines and speaking without any actual knowledge.
Baertschi has been good the last few games despite not getting the numbers that would show it. Last night in particular he was really driving the play.
Hope he takes the ball and runs with it.

Go get them Sven!
Pumped to see the kid get a call up. Great for his confidence. Even when they send him back down when we get healthy again. This should help him a lot.
Also last night with Poirier, first game back 2 goals, Awesome! Love his game and would like to see him get the call soon too. Not too soon though, he has missed a lot of hockey.
Great situation where none of the kids are expected to carry the load, but they all chip in.
Hopefully we can get revenge tonight for that robbery price had in Calgary.

Sven has been the 3rd best forward for Addy behind only Granlund and Ferland. Not surprisingly, he was also the 3rd call up.
Stats aren't everything. Sometimes you can do everything right and it'll still screw up. That's basically Sven's first 6-7 games this year. Sort of like how Monahan couldn't buy a point to start the year up here.

Hanowski's red hot right now too if I've been reading things right lately. Could be the call up when Jones re-injures himself.

If we run into more injuries, Poirier and Hanowski would be my next two call ups.

Wait until the team does something before he gets credit. Things look positive but nothing has happened. The one player he picked so far that is a full time NHLer was Monahan who was the consensus pick.
I do think once the 2011 class sticks (hopefully this year for all 4 prospects) and guys like Porier, Sieloff, etc prove they are NHLers he will get more credit. Right now the move he made that is paying off the most is the Hartley hire.
No matter what I think he was a pretty bad GM overall and very happy we got rid of him but he deserves respect for some of the ways he managed the team particularly in the scouting department

Before or after he played with Johnny?
And while that's nice of him to say, c'mon. The man played with Pavel Datsyuk.

Even if it isn't true... Awesome for a vet like hudler to do what he can to boost the kid's confidence. Love having that guy on the team.

Really hope Sven can make the most of this opportunity. I still think he has potential but enough with making excuses for the guy. It's time to show and prove.

A players development is not linear. Relax.
