Giordano is their best player, Gaudreau is the most skilled.

No. Gio and Brodie are still there.

I'm not sure about best (yet) but certainly the most explosive.
As well, I wouldn't say as an overall piece he is better than Brodano, but is definitely topping the forward group.

Always nice to look at the game results after missing the game, and see a W.

Love Johnny, but best player on the team? That's quite a stretch.

Well at least our defenseman are pulling there load!!! #2 #4 and #14 in scoring for defenseman. They are all ahead of some big names! If TJ keeps it up that contract he just signed will be a steal!!!

Is it? While I do agree that Giordano and Brodie are still the Flames' best players, I think that Gaudreau makes a very compelling case as the team' best forward. In three of the last five games he has been the best player on the ice.

Gaudreau is really something. I hope his development stays the course because the sky is the limit for him.
I'm glad to read people's takes on Granlund and Ferland. Really exciting prospects so it's nice to hear they looked good at the outset of their call-up. Does Ferland have the skill to eventually play with a Gaudreau, Bennett or Baertschi (smallish skilled guys?). Would be nice to not have to wonder where's the beef in our projected top-6.

Just awful, hang your heads in shame, Flames fans. You don't put in a quarter of the effort your team does.

I believe Hartley was planning to start Ramo vs the Canadiens Sunday. Otherwise they'd get Hiller twice in quick succession.

As much as watching Johnny is great fun this year, I absolutely can't wait for Bennett next season. If he hadn't gotten hurt, I think it's safe to assume he would have had a shot to make the team this year. I would say it's a safe bet he makes it next season.
Players like Bennett and Poirier coming along, Ferland and Granlund, then still having Gio and Brodie and another year of Hiller? Could be a very good season next year. Hell, it's already a blast this year.

I still think Monahan is the best forward on the roster.
Underappreciated with the Flash of Gaudreau, but he stepped up into a go-to centre role last night and the flames won. That's hard.

Flames beat Preds 4-3
It really is amazing to watch this kid. We're talking about elite level talent. If there was a definition of a human highlight reel it seems to be Johnny. That move against volchenkov was incredible for a few reasons...
1. That's a veteran shut-down/defensive defenceman that rarely gets beat one on one.
2. Johnny barely had any time/space to gain speed... He received the pass in the middle of the neutral zone and did a sharp turnaround before heading up ice. Despite this, he absolutely blew by the predators' defence.
3. It wasn't like the predators didn't have the time and position to prepare for Johnny coming up the ice. They didn't really get caught on a bad change.
4. He made that move at such a high speed while going straight at a dirty/hulking defenceman and made him look ridiculous.
5. He kept his head up the whole time.
Take notes Taylor Hall... This wasn't some peewee move that you try time and time again and it never works. This was beautiful.

Yeah, lost in the game narrative last night was just how good Monahan was. He had big shoes to fill with both Backlund and Stajan out, two centers who handle most of the defensive duties. Played well all night, played smart and ended up with both a goal and an assist. Despite the slow start he's on pace for over 20 goals and 40 points.
