I disagree. I think shows that have a crazy pace non stop suffer burn out. You never get to know any characters as no time for story is given. It is flat out run and gun. Imagine if we were at this story point in season 3. The prison was only 3 episodes condensed, I think you would have lost a lot in who these people are and how they have changed and why.
I am not saying the pace has been done well here. It has dogged it at the farm and the prison. Yet I think if they space out the character building parts, and keep a fast pace in between, I think this show will be that much better.
I will say this far in is the best season so far, and the acting is the best it's ever been. If they can work in a few deep parts here and there throughout the season to explain things I think this could be the best season yet.

Darabont hasn't been involved with the Walking Dead since season 1. Being an executive producer is a pretty non-descript title. Sometimes it means a lot and sometimes it's completely meaningless.
In lost the Showrunners were lindelof and cuse. J.J. Abrams stopped being involved in the day to day affairs in the first season.
They are often the head writer who also serves as one of the executive producers but some showrunners don't give themselves writing credits on every episode even if there are extensive re-write (Gilligan) others like Matt Weiner (Mad Men) take it on them all.

One thing I typically like about TWD is that you really get the feeling that no one is safe. They are always killing off seemingly important characters.
That is why Bob dying was a bit of disappointment. It was easily telegraphed because of the focus they put on him and the sappiness being overdone a little. It is something a lot of shows do to try and top up the emotional attachment before offing them.
Overall though, it is a great season. I love how Rick has developed into a savage. He and Darryl almost seemed to switch a little. I also love revenge and there has already been a little of that.

Since it's already happened this can't be construed as a comic spoiler.
In the comics the cannibals story is quite short as well. Probably shorter and less in depth than the show. Personally, I liked the TV version better. It gave some background on why they turned to cannibalism...even though in "reality" I am sure people would turn to it just to stay alive (ala The Road).

I don't know, it's one thing to cannibalise when the victims are deceased from an natural or accidental causes, it's a whole nother realm to kill them with the intent to eat them.

In my opinion the show is at it's best when it's a mixed pace - almost a balance between storyline build up and moving on with the plot. While Season Two was painfully slow, the one amazing benefit was the massive build up to the end of the first half of season 2 for when Sophie was found. That build up made the second half of season 2 that much better.
To me season three was such a mixed bag of good and bad. Elements of the battle with Woodbury were great, but Rick's mental dilemmas and the whole everyone is sick story arc were a bit annoying. Ever since the Prison went down and the group splintered I feel like the show has hit a different level. (To be honest I'm curious to watch the first season of the show as I think it's going to be a bit of a head trip to see the growth in the show overall.)
It's interesting that they've already polished off Gareth, given how long The Governor lingered I was half expecting him to escape this episode and continue to track the group for a few more episodes.

Well that was simply awful. I think people complain about this show too much for what it is but that was the worst episode in the entire series.

Curious what makes you say it. Didn't love it, but was a nice break from the regular group stuff.

The new characters introduced were just too 1-dimensional. The sleazy male cop, the power hungry female cop.
Plus if I were Beth I'd probably thinking there ain't half bad. Food and safety - I'd be in for that. Better than starvation on the outside.
I assume the guy that got away is the dude that Darryl had in the bush with him at the end of the last eppy.

Everybody Hates Noah.
I kind of liked it, as said before it is a nice break from the regular group. I actually would have liked them to flesh it out some more showing the cops live and how they go out and get people.

Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Definitely predictable right up until they brought Carol in at the end. With her becoming a genuine badass this season, once Carol is healthy it won't be long before she takes that place down.

I could have handled the episode a lot better were I not so distracted by Beth's terrible acting. Has she been anything other than wide-eyed and stunned in this series? It's like she's reading the script for the first time while sitting on the toilet. When engaged by another character , she takes 5 seconds to respond, whether she's being aggressively confronted or warmly greeted. Judith is more more engaging and believable than her, for chrissake. Killing off her and Carl would be the best thing to happen to this show.

This show just loves filling out its cast with black guys from The Wire. Next up Idris (Stringer Bell) Elba!

I hope this isn't as predictable as it seems like it might be - i.e. Noah is found by Daryl and brought to the church, and a plan is formed to bring where Carol goes in and rescues Beth.

I enjoyed the episode. I thought the concept of a creepy deranged hospital was cool. I agree that Beth isn't a strong enough actor to carry the episode the way she did. The music this episode was top notch though.

I agree it wasn't my favourite episode to date but did like the idea of seeing how other groups are surviving. I'm with RW99 and hope we get to see more of what the cops are doing when they are bringing people in.

I did not like that episode.
To survive this long in this world, create a safe-zone and then let us believe that you let down your guard to make what happened in this episode possible?
Expect us to believe this?
This is the first episode that left me disappointed.
