This was pretty much as bad of Flames hockey as I've seen since the dive after wondernut Burke canned Feaster last season.

Pretty key that they over react in game two of the season and start trying to send extreme messages right away.

Where is Bollig? Stajan? Jones, Raymond. Rookies were ready to go out of camp, vets look like they need a month more to be ready.
|
Basically this
I know most analysts would say: vets don't care during the preseason, evaluate them in the regular season
Welp, it's only game 2 but really what were you expecting? That Jones would magically develop hands over the course of a few games of not playing? Everyone that actually watches this team knows these guys are mediocre to bad on most nights. There's a reason we picked 4th overall last year and probably even higher this year

Glencross is effective in the deflection of shots in front of the net. Stajan is effective to do backcheck behind the net. Jones is effective in skating straight......

Not at all. After what Hartley has been preaching over and over, it would send a message both to vets, and the bubble kids who did earn a roster spot they didn't get.
I wouldn't consider it over reacting, I'd call it making up for past mistakes.

In all the doom and gloom, let's not forget we lost the first Oilers game last season 4-2. Still ended up being an okay season.
Patience.
Besides, this one is still tied, even though the Oilers have played well by their standards and we've played bad by any standard.

I think Nik Borschevsky was a more effective hockey player for the Flames than Jones is. Utterly useless other than helping bring the team up to the cap minimum.

they are very limited on who they can send down due to the cap floor

The doom and gloom isn't coming from the scoreboard, but the play on the ice.
I don't think too many people really care all that much if we lose this game. It's just the sheer level of terrible we are seeing on the ice tonight that's got people worried.
Especially when the biggest problem doesn't seem to be rust or lack of chemistry, but just a complete, across the board lack of... Well, everything. They just look like they don't give a ####.

Yah we should totally call up one of the bubble kids so they can sit in the press box next to Seto the next time we feel we need Big Ern in the line up, that would be awesome.
Frock sake get some patience and give some time for the team and Hartley to figure out the club and what to do with some of the vets if they aren't going to have a productive spot on the team. There are no rules that say after day xxx the bubble kids can't get called up, so there is zero rush to figure this out other than our own lack of patience as fans.

Uh huh. Which was fine for a bit but c'mon. This game is being shown in Alberta with Flames fans watching. Enough.

I'm watching in greaserville but are those doofs broadcast to Calgary as well? Spector seems to have had a lobotomy and it has been replaced by a koolaid machine. What a poor excuse for an analyst.
