Of course it is important to know what actions were taken and when, as well as who knew what; but that is secondary to the real issue of domestic violence.

I'm worried that the NFL will come up with a new policy, roll out some sort of PR campaign then wash their hands of the issue.

Been a weird season so far. Lots of teams 1-2 that I thought would have better records but its only 3 weeks in.

The Niner's started 1-2 last year and went 11-2 in the following 13 games. I won't panic yet.

The reffing has been terrible this year though, the league has to do something about it. Games can't continually be determined by the refs.

That PI call against the Jets in this Monday nighter was just horrible.

Pretty decent game tonight from a Bears POV. Thought the score favoured the Jets, but both defenses looked tough. Glad to see Mel Tucker took control and now the Bears defense, although not as dominant as they have been in the past, have seemed to have risen above thhe attrocious level that they are at now.

Kyle Fuller looks like the real deal. an INT and 2 forced fumbles, he seems to be a Peanut Tillman reincarnate

As was Jonathon Bostic's "holding" call that could have turned into a game-tying drive. Wont say the refereeing was good, but it went both ways

Houston said he made Kaepernick mad in the Week 2 game by saying "Nice pass," after a Kyle Fuller interception. Houston told the Tribune that Kaepernick then swore at him and used the N-word. Kaepernick was fined $11,025 for the penalty.

Ya for sure, I'm not saying it was one-sided in this game, the reffing has been brutal all around.

It's making CFL officials look like kings...

Words like this are thrown around all the time during the game, the majority of the NFL consists of African-Americans.

Lamarr Houston was flagged for "bad language" last game for (probably) saying the same slur.

People may not like Kap (not sure why, maybe because of how he looks?), but judging him as classless because he said the N-word to another black player is ridiculous.

The NFL needs to get its priorities straight, I can't believe they have a penalty called "bad language". This league is falling apart.

N is much more than bad language. I wish it wasn't used so much in hip-hop too, even by bands I admire like The Roots. I understand that context is important, but this is an ugly word.

Interestingly enough I was just thinking about the n-word today on my run whil I was singing along to a hip hop song. I wonder if my son will even think it's a big deal, and if he doesn't, hasn't the African American community done its' job by taking the word back and repurposing it, or are you suggesting that some words are left dead and buried?

I try to understand how the word has a valid use in the black community, as a term of commiseration. Has that point been beaten to death? Can this dehumanizing word be buried?

IRVING, Texas -- Cornerback Morris Claiborne skipped the Dallas Cowboys' walk-through practice and angrily left the club's Valley Ranch training facility Tuesday after being informed that Orlando Scandrick was replacing him in the starting lineup, multiple sources said.

Claiborne's demotion came a few hours after Jerry Jones said on his weekly radio show that the third-year cornerback had not been worth the sixth pick of the 2012 draft, which Dallas moved up to acquire.

"Is he what we had hoped for at this point when we drafted him with the sixth overall pick, giving up the [second-round] pick to go up to the sixth pick to get him? No," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. "But he's going to be a good player."

Not sure if it's been posted elsewhere, but Bill Simmonds was suspended by ESPN for an anti-Goodell rant where he repeatedly calls Goodell out for lying about the Ray Rice video.
