Okay, but if it's something the mods have to spend extra time on, as opposed to other threads, is that really a fair expectation of them when a simpler solution is just to get rid of the thread?

That's a picture of my dog in my avatar. She's a real sweetheart. A wire-haired pointing griffon. Awesome hunting dog (and friend/house pet), I hunt with her for grouse, waterfowl, squirrel, and antler sheds.

I personally never saw a need for the moderators to spend extra time policing the YLYL thread but if deleting the thread was for that exact reason, i probably wouldn't have felt the need to express my opinion on the matter.

I don't believe you've read any of my other posts but for me personally, the thread was never about ogling women nor did I ever feel that was the intention from any of the other more common content providers for the thread.

Again as I've stated before, i take no issue with the thread being deleted but where i feel the injustice does lie is the reasoning for it. Some have reference that by deleting that specific thread, it will positively effect change toward the overall misogynistic attitude across the entire forum that some have experienced and that's a sentiment i personally don't agree with.

In all honesty, some of the pictures I ended up posting took a great amount of time to find and by putting fourth that effort with the shared achievement actually made it quite gratifying.

I haven't chimed in on this issue at all, but I would like to politely request you change your avatar, Eastern Girl, as well as anybody else with a sexualized avatar. Frankly, I think they're a little rude to use - I have about nine employees, seven of which are women. I'd be embarrassed if they walked into my office and your avatar was on my monitor.

Actually I would say that is the thread we did the most moderating on. Which was tough, as a post would be reported during the day when we were at work. The mod tools don't play so well on an iPhone.

There was a question brought up several hundred posts ago about the word "fag." It has been asked before why it isn't on our swear filter. The last time it came up I asked a couple of our gay members, and they both said that they had never seen it used as a slur against gays on here. I can also only think of one time it was used, and that person was dealt with quickly.

If any members of our forum who is gay feels differently, please PM me. The whole point of these changes is to make sure everybody feels welcome here. I promise to treat your concerns with kindness and respect.
