Anyone who thinks Kelly doesn't like the Flames and loves the Canucks and Oilers clearly doesn't know him. I think it's natural to think that because he tends to really hammer teams when he thinks they aren't doing things right.

He's had Flames season tickets for years, and as of last year has been praising of the Flames all the time.

I don't know. I wasn't a big fan on the nation broadcast. I watched the interviews and he said he'll have to try and be a bit more conservative. I'll give him a shot since he's strictly doing only flames games but I thought whenever we played the oilers or canucks he was always praising them and bashing the flames win or lose.

^ What's funny is that you're just upset that Hrudy isn't biased. It's widely known he's a fan of the Flames having lived here so long and been a long time season ticket holder. I have seen him be critical of them, just as he's been critical of the Canucks and Oilers. He's certainly not someone who's ridden one of those teams as a favourite to the tune of unfairly criticizing the others.

Sounds to me like you've taken some very small sample sizes and reached a premature and baseless opinion of the guy.

I can't believe what an upgrade this announcing team is. Very happy with both choices, and if Rogers puts as much effort into the quality of the broadcast (crowd noise, no delay etc..) it should be an enjoyable year of watching hockey.

Fata! Rhudy is the worst analyst in the game. He doesn't provide any insight that a below average hockey fan couldn't provide. He stutters, and is delayed. Awful Ball is not a bad play by play guy though.

Well, you can't win them all over. This new tandem is astronomically better than Kerr and Simmer. Kind of surprising that this will not be good enough for some fans.

I for one will be very excited once games start getting called. And maybe the tandem will win the few unhappy ones over once they hear the difference.

He's always been a Flames home if anything. Calling Gio a future Norris candidate 3 years ago for example. The whining that goes on here if someone doesn't felate the flames and trash the rivals is mind bottling

Hrudey likes the Flames, but he isn't afraid to criticize them when he feels it's warranted. I imagine now that he will be exclusively doing Flames games, he will tone that part down.

Personally, I think he at times he waved the pom poms for the Canucks and Oilers just to overcompensate for the fact that many people already knew he rooted for the Flames.

Pssst. As someone who's in the know (), he considers himself an Oilers and Kings fan if he can consider himself a fan at all of any teams at this point. I still think he'll do a great job with the Flames.
