Oh most definitely, but saying that Orangemen are only called bigots by other bigots is absurd.

I have found that when dealing with nationalist bigots or bigots in general, most things are absurd.

Nationalism in and of itself is absurd.

Not an anti protestant view. An accepted fact that it is a bigoted organization. I could care less about your religion or any religion for that matter.
So stop playing the victim and please give an example where I have demonstrated anti-protestant views.
I am simply stating that they are a bigoted organisation.

Too easy. Just google 'Orange Order bigots' and take your pick.
But I'll give you a chance to come right back at me. On the flip side you can just google .... 'Orange Order are not bigots.'
And see what that returns. And whilst you're at it, look up the definition of bigot.
They're bigots. Own it. To suggest otherwise or deny it is pathetic.

Instead of googling if they are or are not bigots google why they were formed and what they believe in.

Honestly, there are parallels between why the Orange Order was founded and why the Klu Klux Klan was founded. Unsurprisingly, a bigoted hatred of those with different views and a desire to preserve the supremacy of their own kind lied at the root of both. That the Orange Order's bigotry is religiously motivated rather than racially motivated doesn't make it better.

Support for William of Orange in the British Isles led to the formation of Orange Societies to commemorate his victory at the Battle of the Boyne in July 1690,

No. My point is and remains that they are a bunch of bigots.
Today's Independent (bolded for emphasis).
Quote:
Campaigners against Scottish independence have moved to distance themselves from a planned pro-Unionist Orange Order march through the streets of Edinburgh just days before the crucial referendum vote.
The staunchly protestant Grand Orange Lodge of Scotland is hoping to rally 15,000 supporters in the show of strength on the Saturday ahead of September’s vote.
The spectacle would raise unwanted associations with sectarianism for the No campaign, potentially alienating Catholic voters.
|
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...e-9352562.html
Now why would a National newspaper claim that the No campaign is distancing itself from the Orange Order for fear of being associated with sectarianism if it wasn't a bigoted organisation? What are their grounds for making such a claim?
No one wants to be associated with them and their prehistoric, narrow minded bigotry.
Quote:
It is understood that the loyal order had offered to work with the cross-party Better Together – the organisation fronted by former Chancellor Alistair Darling – but that the overture was rejected.Better Together said: “This organisation isn’t part of our campaign and never will be. The best way for people who believe that we are stronger and better together as part of the UK to get involved is by speaking to undecided voters, not marching in the streets.”

I agree that the march could be a blow for the no vote.

Spain will block anything Scotland does, and will have a deciding vote.
France Italy and Belgium all have their own separatist groups they will wish to dissuade.

The Orange Orders don't like different races either, they really are scum.

That provides the etymology of the name, but the blanket title of "Orange Societies" to encompass various groups is not a synonym for the Orange Order itself. That one was formed in 1795 for reasons that bore little resemblance to celebrating William's victory in Boyne.

Yes, because as the Independent says, having the Orange Order march for the same side of the vote "would raise unwanted associations with sectarianism"
I'll ask the question again.

What question would that be and what relevance would it be to my assertion that:
The Orange Order are a bunch of bigots.
Here you have a pretty decent broadsheet newspaper in the UK as recently as today suggesting that to be associated with the Orange Order is to be associated with sectarianism and you remain silent only to say that they are not bigots.
That's like suggesting the Klan isn't racist.

What makes you jump to this conclusion. Nothing in there beliefs or formation references races, only religion. There were lodges formed in areas of Africa ffs.
