Eli has had a couple borderline MVP seasons and he did what Flacco did twice including once all on the road and over 18-0 New England. Eli is just on the downslide and won't be aging gracefully like Peyton. Flacco was a miracle run, he's a decent QB but he ruined QB contracts by getting top end money for middle of the road play. Totally re-shaped the market.

Eli's had one borderline MVP season (2010) and one or two pretty good seasons, but mostly he's been pretty middling. That said, I just went and looked at Flacco's stats, and they're pretty bad.

Flacco and Eli both fall squarely into the you need a great (not good) team around them to win it all category. They can't do much by themselves unlike say Peyton.

Carson Palmer looks like his arm strength is just zapped at this point in his career.

“When you wake up [Tuesday] and go to our web site, you will see what the NFL didn’t do,” Levin said in a Fox DC interview. “I have gotten conflicting stories on this, and we have some people saying [the league] saw this, but I now believe they actually turned a blind eye to it, and it’s a shameful story. The NFL knew this surveillance video existed. They knew that this casino had surveillance video. I know they knew that, and we will explain later why we know they knew that, but they did — and they didn’t do anything to look at this video.”

No way Goodell can stay on if it's as obvious as it sounds. Turning a blind eye to a woman getting ko'd by a player cannot be tolerated by the league and it's fans.

Jesus Christ, Berman, it was a false start, not a delay of game.

He can take his little muppet, Aiello, with him, too, if that's the case.

The NFL has maintained it attempted to get access to the video from inside the elevator but was not allowed to view it. FOX Sports NFL Insider Mike Garafolo reached out to the NFL for comment regarding Levin's remarks and Greg Aiello — the league's senior vice president of communications — responded with this:

"Security for Atlantic City casinos is handled by the New Jersey State Police. Any videos related to an ongoing criminal investigation are held in the custody of the state police. As we said earlier today: We requested from law enforcement any and all information about the incident, including the video from inside the elevator. That video was not made available to us and no one in our office has seen it until today."

The strength is there. As for the accuracy

Eli can be good with a pounding running back (Jacobs) and a strong defense. he hasalways been an int. throwing machine. overrated

I'm still a little befuddled why the video coming out today is changing everything. As gruesome and disturbing as it is, didn't we all know this is what happened?

Now I agree that Rice should have been banned from the beginning of this thing....when it was known he knocked his fiancée out and then dragged her from the elevator. Everyone already knew that including the NFL and the Ravens. It was brutal then as it is now.

But now that we actually see it happen....everything changes? I don't really understand why. Visceral reaction? It got worse because we actually saw it?

This really has my curiosity peaked.

Pretty much. When people think they know what happened in there it changes when the video of the punch is out on the net for everyone to see. Just makes it uglier, IMO.

Plus, I'm still not sure how a powerful organization like the NFL can't seem to get their hands on the video, but TMZ can get it. I guess we'll find out more tomorrow.

I didn't know this was what happened. I don't really follow the NFL, and even as popular as it is, most people don't either.

People heard "running back Ray Rice suspended for domestic violence" and probably rolled their eyes and said "yep, another professional athlete being an ass#0le, what else is new?" and that was the extent of it.

Now you can see a video of him on the nightly news coldcocking his wife and picking her up like a ragdoll. It becomes more "real", I guess.

I'd never heard of the guy before this started but I heard all the uproar about his short suspension. I hate to admit it, but this sort of stuff happens so often that you just shrug your shoulders. I did. I don't know this person, I don't know his wife, I don't know what happened. Could have been a shouting match for all I knew, a misunderstanding, a foolish mistake that he regrets, and his wife is sticking by him.

Now I know it was nothing like that, and if he acts this way in public, it sure as hell isn't the first time. A couple women I know saw it and said "he's going to kill that woman one day..." and they'd never heard of any of this.

So bla bla bla, I guess my point is the video is the big difference. Especially among non-sports fans.

I guess this is it. It just seems odd that the reaction is so powerful today vs when the original video came out. If someone is knocked out in a domestic dispute (particularly in a small area like an elevator) its blatently obvious it was a punch that did it.

Totally agree...something is just not adding up here. The ONLY thing I can think of is that whomever had the hard copy of this thing before the police got it, made a copy and TMZ paid a whole lot o money for it. Otherwise, the NFL did indeed turn a blind eye. Which would be reprehensible.

Yeah its a pretty cool find. Someone mentioned there was a story about him in the Province newspaper and when I googled, it came up under images.

Just finalized plans to head to the celebration of his life this evening...so many expected to attend that they are holding it at the gymnasium at Cominco...lol.

Quick question...whats a realistic travel time from Cgy with whatever construction etc is going on right now....7 hours?

It's all about PR. You've seen it now so the NFL is scared and needs to act. Seeing it and hearing it are two different things.

Like Donald Sterling being a glassbowl for 30 years but until you HEARD him say it rather than just reading about it, he was fine.

SEEING > HEARING > READING

Yeah...unfortunately this is what comes to mind when I see this kind of thing as well. His clear inability to control himself means that this could escalate to much worse stuff at any time...unless he gets some serious help.
