i met monahan about a month or so back here in toronto, unfortunately it wasn't a good place to make conversation, so just had a brief chat with him. i just didn't realize how young he really is, and how i'd just figure he was just a tall teenager/first year college student if i didn't know who he was. He's also not as 'big' as i would have imagined, so am really excited to see how much better of a hockey player he can be as he gets bigger and fills out a bit with age.

he was exactly how i had pictured him though, a quiet, polite, nice kid. I'm a friend of his extended family, and they are simple, good hearted people so there's just no way you can't root for this guy.

fingers crossed this offseason time together he and gaudreau are spending translates into a quicker growing of chemistry on the ice come fall!

also, a fun useless peice of info i got was that he was renting JVRs condo in TO this summer.

Aaron Vickers was on the Fan this morning and mentioned that when he talked to Sean this summer that he was now weighing in around 205/207 about 10 pounds heavier than his playing weight last year.

Hopefully he's got his leg strength up with the gain, even 5% quicker would be huge for him.
