Like i wrote that....anyone reading that would automatically know it was written elsewhere because it was in quotes...the link though forgotten was implied if not there. So how its ME being disingenuous is complete and utter BS, and you know it.
You are a piece of work and apparently a racist.
Well done.
Wow I never claimed YOU wrote that but you quoted the snippet of an article so you either agree with it or think it is somewhat relevant (which it isn't coming from an anonymous tip to a radio station).
I am a racist? You are being disingenuous because you think someone claiming to have seen Brown charge the officer somehow discredits the other eye witness accounts who have been on camera with their real name and face visible with nothing to hide.

Really eh? Where did i say that?
And if I didnt...i assume you will apologize for making stuff up?
I'm not really talking about the police, It just comes across when I read your reaction that your discounting it because of either its source, or because it doesn't fit your theory of what happened.
What are you talking about? I never once in any thread stated my opinion on what I think happened. I have said zero, zilch, nada, on the actual shooting of Brown as I have no idea what happened. All my comments in this thread have been on the riots, not at the actual shooting. So no I have zero theories.
I will discount any anonymous tips to a radio station just as anyone would or should.
What exactly is being protested at this point? I don't totally understand... is there a goal to the protest, or is it just the general mistreatment of the black population by the local police? Or is there something I'm totally missing in the first place?
I guess I don't get it because now that the teenager has been killed, what is the protesting trying to achieve? Just to drum up awareness I guess?
I find that protesting never really achieves anything. It gets the message out but does anyone really believe that U.S. will ever be able to change any of its' systemic issues without a revolution?

While racism is obviously not gone in the US--both in violent and also subtle, systemic ways--I would imagine that the protesting and rioting that happened in MLK Jr.'s time, protesting and marching and rioting that eventually led to the end of legal segregation, and the civil rights that black people now do enjoy in this country, wouldn't say that protesting doesn't achieve anything.
There are still a whole lot of racial issues in this country, but it's a lot better than it was 60 years ago, and that's due in large part to people protesting and drawing attention to the problem.

Protesting also pressured Nixon into ending an unwinnable war.
While both good examples I guess, I still feel like those protests overall had much clearer goals in mind. This Ferguson one seems like more of an angry reactionary protest than a protest with a point like changing legislation towards racial policy or ending a war.

I'm pretty sure they didn't bring everyone in the community together into the town hall and politely discuss the merits of, say, affirmative action within the state police units.
Both the civil rights movement and the anti-war protests needed time to mature and have a somewhat clear message (though their were factions within both movements that disagreed with certain demands). They are not going to be organized with a clear concise message in less than a week. Other than "we are so far passed pissed off we need to do SOMETHING RIGHT NOW".

sorry, at 18 one can vote, go off to war so it's not like he was a kid

The biggest issue that should be targetted is the systemic unequal treatment of Blacks and Hispanics by the Police, Judiciary, Prisons, and drug laws.
These deaths serves as trigger points for these underlying issues wether or not the person killed is guilty or innocent.
I believe a media member has been arrested on several nights. I guess it depends why he was arrested...was he refusing police instructions to move? Will have to see. I see CNN is broadcasting live from the heart of the protesting, so its not like they are not allowing the media there.
