I don't think these guys have any critical thinking skills nor common sense or this wouldn't be going on at all.

They don't seem to care very much right now. They're using riot control on a group of people that isn't rioting. These people are angry and protesting and infuriated, and some of them are being idiots, throwing rocks and bottles at police, but pretty sure the rocks/bottles are a whole lot less lethal than even the rubber bullets being shot at protesters.
It's a horrifying situation. Firing teargas into residential areas, onto front lawns, etc. How is this okay in 2014 in the effing United States? Land of the free, eh?

The US has been trending towards a police state for years. This will become more and more common, I'm sure of it.

This "police" force is acting they actually own this town, and aren't in fact employees of the people who live there. There are convoys of armoured cars with dozens of guys wearing military equipment rolling through the town. Geezus.
If this isn't a case for the NRA and the rest of the gun nuts to get on board against government tyranny and the right to bear arms, I don't know what is.
I wonder when we'll hear from them.

Those dummies will probably be conflicted because it's two things they fear; A police force becoming militaristic towards it's citizens and black people.
I'm sure their racism will shine through and they'll defend the police in this case.

Yeah, at this rate even transplant99's gonna be like "Okay, it wasn't totally the whoever got beat or killed by police guy's fault".

The best way to not get shot, is to obey the guy who puts his life on the line for your children for safety, every day. Nine eleven and terrorism.

Pssst, he's mocking CP's old, conservative white crowd.

99% of the time you would be right but I suspect in this case we might be looking at the 1%.
I'm just amazed and saddened that in this day in age racism on this level could even possibly add up to 1%.

Apologies for coming back to this thread over and over again, but I just found an article with some really interesting infographics about the racial disparities in Ferguson.

Firing tear gas, rubber bullets, and sonic weapons at peaceful protesters? Unlawful arrest of media members without charge?
Can't believe what I'm seeing.
Its almost as if they are trying, no, daring the people to do something.
So, over/under on how long it is till someone perforates a few police officers?

This is an (hours old) livestream of these brave officers breaking up a peaceful demonstration with a loud "crowd control" device that beeps like a smoke alarm, rubber bullets, tear gas, and flash-bang grenades*.

The cops appear to outnumber the protesters.
And here's another video of some dimwitted cop dressed up and acting like he's taking a street in Fallujah while clearing out a couple journalists from a McDonald's in Missouri.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/posttv...abb_video.html
This is oddly fascinating. Like suddenly the rules just don't count in this town.
*I'm not positive it was flash-bang grenades. They flashed brightly and they banged loudly. If we have any posters who would like to try to deflect this conversation towards my lack of expertise in this area, please go ahead. We all can't wait.

This is unbelievable, it really is. Sad this is happening in a first world country. This is something you would expect Assad to do in Syria.
