It's incredible that it took her 22 tries or 110 shots to do it. I think Nicole got flustered after missing the first few and it was all downhill from there. They knew they were done for so I give her credit for finishing it.

Pressure + Fatigue + Nerves all in a race situation, it seemed like it just got the best of Nicole that day.

I was more surprised Pete took so many attempts since he said he was a hunter.

it was painful to watch nicole do the challenge. She was really awful at shooting but applaud her for the determination to keep going. if its 1 kilometre per way, she would have cycled around 40kilometres in the rough terrain

the siblings and the gays were really weak at challenges. they would be eliminated easily. weak teams this season

I'm thinking she flubbed the first few and panicked. You can see when they started showing her empty full clips (instead of using jump cuts) she wasn't really even aiming...just rapid shots hoping for a hit.

This is what I'm getting at. In Whistler you can go to the Biathlon track from the Olympics and have a go at the range, which I have done. There is a range master there with you to ensure your and everyone else's safety. They helped out Suki (she went from holding the rifle over her head to lying in a prone firing position), why not Nicole?

I think Suki was unfamiliar with how to fire a rifle period. They were ensuring that she was using the equipment properly. Nicole seemed to know how to shoot but wasn't firing accurately at the targets.

OMG that was awesome. Regardless if you've never shot a rifle, surely you've seen it numerous times in a movie. These 2 are quite possible the dumbest contestants to ever race.

Shortly after that, they both think the race is telling them to paddle 1.5 KM UPSTREAM. Man I wished they were at that for a while longer before realizing they were going the wrong way.

I dont think Nicole finished shooting. If you look at her targets when she hits her 3rd target the left 2 non hit targets have a lot of bullet marks. Beneath the target is silver instead of white.

In the final scene when they show the targets flipping they are basicaly clean targets with 3 or 4 missed shots. So either they quit filming or they cheated.

I'm enjoying this season a lot!
I was annoyed by Nicole in previous episodes, but my respect for her went way up this time. It's too bad that a team that actually tried is out, and the teams that give up on challenges or expect everyone else to help them out are still in.

maybe it's the editing...that made the gays, sukhi and jinder look bad.....

the hockey girls are pretty strong, they are in top 3 in all the episodes. good choice in giving the express pass to the pierre and michel. by giving to sukhi and jinder, they will not gain anything from them and will be wasted away. now the ball is in the court of butcher to deliver what they have promised.

Agreed, my first thoughts were that they should give it to a weaker team that wouldn't really have any impact on their own game, but every time there is only the one flight to a destination everyone is equal again.
I think the deal they made with the twins was good (not to U-turn them etc) but I have doubts the twins will live up to their word.

I agree. The mother-son duo will prob keep their word but it will go to waste, the Montreal teams and surfer boys look a bit shady. Maybe bartenders will be a better choice?

That's the drama with giving away the express pass. Give it to weak team you can beat would be my strategy.

Give it to a strong team and hope they won't U Turn you, first that team might not keep their promise and second that team might not even finish first on that task to U Turn people.

With the U Turn task, it is better to finish as fast as possible so even if you do get U Turned, you still have time to do the second task.

You make some really strange comments in this thread. Why would they not air a double U-turn? That's a major part of the game, even if no one was turned around. And not sure what you mean by people falling for edits -- of course it's a highly edited show, but she was holding that gun pretty weird...

Besides the point, unless you were an editor on the show, how could you possibly know these things?

Here is the double U-Turn in Hong Kong:
http://websta.me/p/711988476057487036_892351280

The story with the U-Turn is that it may have not been shown because a team made an error on the mat.

As for the edit, I do a lot of reading behind the scenes and know that S&J are not as "dumb" as they are portrayed. Like Brett and Holly last season, the producers need a team for the public to cheer against. Plus, I know where they finish.
As you know, everything is edited to tell a story. Some stuff is left in, shots are mixed around and some things are left out.

Do you think Nicole finished shooting or was it just an editing trick. The las two targets she was showed hitting werent from her set of five.

My speculation would be that she finished but they missed getting the close-up shots of the targets going down, so they just used someone else's.

Granted the 5 hole was blocked but was it really that hard or were the hockey girls trying too hard to hit it? Many people that 5 hole in fewer than the 50 shots the hockey girls took.
