They have raised their prices a bit in the last couple of years but this is similar to what I bought. I paid 350.

I don't know if it is an option for you. I have several friends, and family who hate wearing rings. And when they do they lose it within a couple weeks, so they ended up getting a tattoo on their ring finger. Some got a simple design, others got a fancy design.

Me personally, I like the tattoo for myself. Otherwise I say titanium, or tungsten.

Tattoos on ring fingers just screams "we're young, broke and too naive about marriage failure rates to get wedding rings".

I do love the "oh but I always lose my ring" rebuttals that are pure hokum

Diamonds are a girl's best friend, remember that when you start adding stones to a mens ring.

Hand & face tattoos = "I'm sorry but we're not hiring at this time."

Kept it simple with a gold band, myself. Custom designed some cool #### on the inside though - hidden from view.

Matching your wife's ring just for the sake of it is like matching your socks to your tie - weird.

If youre using marriage failure rates as your reason to not et a ring tattoo, why even bother getting married yourself? Getting a tattoo lasered off of your finger is goin to be one of the cheaper and less painless things from a failed marriage.

As for other posts, the people who pick something they like are the ones who do it right. Get what you want and youll be happy wearing it daily.

My husband will be having his ring tattooed on as his work environment is dangerous. A ring is a hazard.

Titanium rings can open beer bottles without wrecking the ring. Try that with gold!!!!! That should be your selling point to the wife.

For all the threads on CP that discuss luxury cars, high end kitchen appliances, vacations around the world, season tickets, houses, vacation properties, 4 figure bicycles, weddings, watches, suits, dresses, etc., it's funny that you draw the line at $500 on a ring.

If you're happy with a $100 ring, then pick that one. If you want something more expensive, and can afford it, why not get that one? If you are going to wear one piece of jewelry, for the (hopefully) rest of your life, why not make it something you really like? $1,000 amortized over 50 years doesn't seem so bad for something you wear every day, especially when you compare it to a $3,000 TV that you use for five years.

I spent around $150, thought I was being cheap but its nice to read that other guys have done the same. Been married 6 years and almost lost the ring twice.

Once on my honeymoon, in the ocean in Hawaii. I spent 2 hours searching the ocean floor (wasn't too deep of water) and found it. Then last year, accidentally left it in a hotel room on vacation. Called the hotel, they didn't find it for about a month. Remarkably I got it back.

Both times it would have been much worse if I spent $1000+ on a damn ring.

Keep working at it, perhaps the third time will be a success....

And be one of the many who lose it? Sure. However, he loves me a lot and still wants people to know he's taken so once he's tattooed, the ring will be for special occasions and he will still have his tattoo for when he's on the job.

I'm pretty sure he's not saying that at all. You said it was insane. He didn't take it as the literal definition; you did. All it looks like ucb implied, was that it's only your opinion you shouldn't spend more than $500 (a figure you created) on a ring, and that others may want to spend more without being crazy/insane/stupid/off their rocker/drunk/delusional/mad/silly/etc.

Still post like the one above ensures that other posters will never have to call you a Richard.

Same advice I give in every wedding related thread: don't.
