Hopefully the wind and rain pick up for the weekend. I hate it when pros tear up major championship courses.

Also, Hearn and Delaet both with decent rounds to start off. Plenty of guys under par though.

I'm already getting annoyed with all the Tiger coverage.

I'd love to see him come back and play well. The rivalry he generates makes golf fun. But the overwhelming amount of coverage he gets just turns me off.

I watched highlights last night, the first golf highlight package was nothing but Tiger (literally - they called it the Tiger package) and the next was everyone else.
This morning I go to pgatour.com and the big front page picture was Tiger who, at the time, was +3 on the day and 6 strokes back.

Just looking, I see it is now Rory who is at -7. So it appears the Tiger line is within 6 strokes of the lead.

I do like seeing Tiger at his best. It is an amazing display of golf. But who he is today is no longer the odds on favourite. There are other guys playing consistently much better. I just wish the coverage would reflect that.

Rory is playing well again today, this tournament is probably his to lose at this point. Might be another dominant major win for him too.

Isn't ESPN3 all Tiger all the time? Why so much coverage on the main feed?

I laughed when I saw a Tiger tee-off timer on the bottom of the ticker this morning.

DeLaet just tweeted:

I wouldn't have minded playing the golf course I'm watching on tv right now. #luckofthedraw

Tiger makes triple bogey on 17 and is danger of missing the cut. In related news, ESPN is in danger of not covering the Open this weekend.

Dustin Johnson is probably the only guy who can prevent this from being another rout. But Rory looks to be in complete control. 13 birdies and 1 bogey in two rounds, impressive.

Makes me crazy. Who the hell wants to watch him 24/7 when he's mired in mediocrity. Absolute rubbish coverage.

Looked like it might be interesting for a half second there as Ricky Fowler tied him, but Rory eagles two of the final three holes and Fowler bogeys two of the last three and now Rory has a 6 shot lead going into the final round. Will take a huge collapse to lose now.

Also saw Rory's dad stands to make £200,000 if Rory finishes tomorrow. Bet £400 when Rory was 16 that he would win an Open before he turned 26. Got 500-1 odds. Nice.

Thanks I didn't know any of this.

All I heard this morning was that Tiger got off to a hot start today and then crashed back down.

Canadian Open this week. Can a Canadian win this year? Looks like Canadian golf is on an upswing these days. Here are some of the hopefuls to win this year and a recap of how Canadians are doing this year:

Graham Deleat: 31st in Fedex points, had a strong start, but hasn't done a lot lately.
David Hearn: 70th in Fedex points, consistently good, but not great results.
Mike Weir: 128th in Fedex. Was in danger of losing status for next year until his surprise runner up at the Byron Nelson. That has him at 94 in the money list, which should make him a lock for being on the tour one more year at least.
Brad Fritsch: 168th in Fedex points. Needs some top tens in these last few events or he is back to the web.com tour.
Adam Hadwin: 6th in Web.com money, and a lock for the PGA tour next year.
Roger Sloan: 15th in web.com money, and also should be a lock for the PGA tour after winning in Nova Scotia. (Declined invite to Canadian Open)

Canadian amateur Pendrith had a pretty awesome 65. Doubt he could keep that up for the entire tournament, but what a story that would be.

Delaet is going low today. Could this be the week he breaks through and wins a tournament?

Fritsch right on the cut line. He is a jekyl and hyde kind of guy. He'll have 3 rounds in the 70s but if he gets hot he'll throw out a string of birdies.

Sloan withdrew

I'm hoping that we see some Flames support on twitter for Delaet.

And sure enough Fristche gets hot on the back nine sunday and rings up a stretch of birdies and ends up with a top ten

Have 2 Canadians ever finished in the top 10 before at a Can Open?

I don't know. But a nice solid showing by the Canadians with 6 making the cut and 2 top tens. Fritsch needs to make something happen to finish out the year to make his card for next year. Only 2 more events to get to the top 125 in money or fedex cup points.

Delaet, Hearn, Hadwin and Weir are a lock for next year. It would be good to see Sloan and Fritsch come through to have 6 Canadians playing full time next year.

I wouldn't say Weir is a lock. He needs at least one more top 10 to have enough money.
