Definitely call it a tie. It'll be interesting to look back on this poll years from now.

Finn > Non-Finn
Both are excellent prospects though, and I feel at least will turn out to be a good #1.

You can't call a run off vote a tie unless it actually is a tie. The winner is the goalie who gets at least 50% plus one of the votes.

Yeah what is the point of a runoff vote if you ignore the results?
We knew it would be close after the first go-round

Wow, this is ridiculous.
I think the result of this poll shows it to be a true tie between the two goalies.

Ortio won the general poll by 1-2%, and it looks like Gillies will win this one by about the same. I don't know the rules of run off votes, but this one looks a lot like a tie.

If we add all the votes Ortio is winning by two.

If you add the votes from every single round including the run off then Gillies is 465-436 ahead.
It's very close

crazy the run-off ended up being so close. guessing a goalie prospect's quality seems so hard to extrapolate. Different leagues, different team style's/defensive quality, different quality of opposition, etc. Other than watching the pure mechanics of a goalie prospect, i think trying to determine what a team has in a goalie prospect is downright impossible for the average fan, until you see them play games in the NHL.
Even then, playing games with little to nothing on the line is much different than playing on a team with expectations (lot of goalies do great when given a look during rebuilds or during call ups at the end of the season than they do at the beginning of the season).
I'm glad that the flames took the goalie with the 54th overall this year, and more importantly took the guy they wanted, not the goalie that was left on the board. more so than any other position, i think goalie drafting is more and more a probabilities game than anything, so having plenty of horses in the race is the way to go.
Heck, i'd argue that we could have had the poll as: who's the best flames goalie prospect, and we likely still would come out with a 3-way tie.

I completely agree. As long as there has been some pedigree to the goalie, they are a good prospect IMO. Even then, there are goalies who sorta come out of nowhere after their draft year and impress.

No ties, otherwise why bother with a runoff?

Exactly - could have called it a tie after Round 9.
But a run-off is head to head. Even one vote is a victory.

Just call the winner.
It's not like this is going to affect their careers.
