Unplug your work computer from the network, tether your phone and search away. Just have webmail turned on so you don't miss any incoming emails.

Yeah...he's smarter than that. There would be a noted time that I was not connected to the network. Would look strange. I know I'm being paranoid, but he is a high end I.T. guy. He knows the tricks.

Taking tomorrow off. Have one interview setup and hopefully more.

The last name ''Ouellet''. There's just something about it that GMG. The way it looks. The way it sounds. The people associated with it. It always makes me want to say ''Omelet''.

#### him.

If he asks you tell him you are looking. As long as you are doing what little work he gives you, what is he going to do?

On that note though, that turn-off is in serious need of an upgrade. It's kind of a joke that one of the biggest routes out of downtown is reduced to one lane.
I would add NB Deerfoot to WB Memorial to what also needs a major overhaul. The inside lanes are pretty much useless, unless you somehow luck out and nobody merging onto SB Deerfoot has completely blocked them off causing all traffic to have to funnel through the outside lane, presuming a semi truck or something hasn't blocked that.

Spence Diamonds

I went to their store not long ago while shopping for an engagement ring. I was surprised to see the rings are all fakes. I'd like to think I'm not ######ed, but I honestly thought that after listening to their commercials you had free access to look and try on their rings. Their commercial says as such, even saying "we trust you, we built this store for you". it's just this kind of double talk that annoys me.

Its like that other radio ad they 1st started with saying that people could pay off their diamond over a year, while they have a replica. While the real one is being made. Uh, hows that a favour to anyone? You spend a year paying them in full and in exchange you get a cheap phony rock? And they were talking on the radio ad like it's some service they provide out of the goodness of their hearts.

F*** that store and their double talk. God I hate their ads.

My gear grinder is going to come off more confrontationally than I intend it to, but it really GMG when people use terms such as "######ed" or "######" in reference to, well, anything. Sorry, Brannigan's Law, you just happened to remind me of this gear grinder.

Pretty sure looking for a job on company time would allow him to turf me without any kind of pay. I couldn't afford to be just turfed without a couple of weeks given to me. Just don't want to chance it.

Anyway...seems kind of minor now and a silly thing to complain about after that plane being shot down.

In fairness, there is always something going on in the world that can belittle your/our problems.

I can't help you with your claim of double talk, but it would seem silly for you to get a legitimate diamond ring without having paid for it, wouldn't it? Plus, they custom build every single ring there, you choose the metal and the quality of diamond. This can affect the look of the ring (obviously) but all their replicas are made to look like a mid-range model so you get a great idea of what the ring is going to look like.

You didn't really think that they were just going to have 100's of thousands of dollars worth of gold, silver, and diamonds just laying out in the open, did you? You still get to walk around and pick rings out of open cases without the pressure of a salesperson standing over you, so unless you went in there to steal the rings, who cares if they're well made fakes?

How real looking are these fake rings? Sounds like a lot of men could save themselves a lot of cash if they keep their mouth shut.

Thing is I think I spent almost my entire post saying ya, it was stupid to think that they'd have all those rings out, or any rings for that matter, but they do everything they can in that ad to make you think that. That's the point of my gear grinder.

The idea with Spence is this is for people with bad credit. So if you have bad credit you can get a replica to use while your real ring is on layaway.

I bought my wife's ring there and financed it through their regular financing. (Something like 6 months with no interest.) Walked out with the real ring and paid for it later.

They are just giving options for everybody.

Why not an RDP connection to an external machine at home?

You guys are inventive, but he could track where I logged into. If it wasn't a known server, or location he would wonder what it was. I just don't need the hassle of trying to work around tracking in place here in an I.T. job. It sucks, but that's the way it is.

I do as much as I can on my phone and do more at night, at home.

What makes you think that? and if it is true,,, he is even more bored than you are, a paranoid dictator, or a micromanager.

You should do what someone else said and study for certs, You're wasting valuable time, you are getting paid for.

Because he can and I have no idea if he is or not. No real way to know and a good way to get fired if he is.

Not interested in studying at this point. I was hired to do certain tasks and that is what I am interested in. Most likely get back into sales anyway. Not enough money doing what I like to do here. I have no interest in certifications and "server" style work. I find that more boring than watching paint dry. I like dealing with the "people" of the I.T. business, not some cold machine in a room with other machines. That's why sales is most likely the path I will go back to.

I'll be 47 next month. Just want to really do what I like doing and not some crappy job I'm not interested in. Had too many of those so far.
