I think one would want to hope the police will live up to their promise, but if they don't, I think if they proved your print was at the scene of another crime, having a waiver isn't going to help you. The police see their role as solving crimes, and they tend to think the bad guys lie and cheat so they have to use tactics to trick them, which they think is fair game. The second you become a suspect they're going to do what they can to get evidence from you, in the name of solving the crime. Once you're targeted as a potential bad guy, all bets are off.
Also, my apologies to Bignumbers, I was about twice as vitriolic as I should have been yesterday. I also sent him an apology via PM after he had also PM'd me politely. I don't want to be part of any snarky fights on here.

They are searching other landfills than Spyhill and nothing turned up at the Garland acreage.

About an hour ago I was on my way back from Crossfield and on one of the side highways (Can't remember the exact name) there was a car and a truck on the shoulder and as soon as I passed they both pulled off. Kind of struck me as weird as the guy in the car sped up to me pretty quick and the truck wasn't far behind. So we get onto Deerfoot and now they're both driving pretty slow behind me so I slow down in order for them to pass me just so I could get a good look at them just out of curiosity.
The car passes me but the truck is hesitant to pass me so I move over and he finally has no choice but to pass me and this old dude in the truck wearing a hat and glasses passes me. I don't know why but the first thing I thought about was this case and then I had to try and convince myself that I was crazy and reading too much into nothing. But I ended up following them for a bit and they're both driving pretty slow (100 in a 110) I try to pass the truck and to take another look at the guy driving but he kept speeding up as soon as I would get beside him. I finally just sped up and passed him and took another look but didn't see much more than the first look but for some reason the whole thing had me suspicious. Why were they on the shoulder? Don't they have cell phones if they wanted to talk? And it was a young tattooed guy in an 80's car and a old guy in a jacked up newer truck with nice rims. Something just didn't add up for me so I went ahead of them anyways but as soon as I saw them inching towards Stoney trail I took the same exit and ended up slowing down again and they kept slowing down as to not let me get behind them. I passed Sarcee and that's where they got off.
I know it probably sounds like a nothing story and it probably is, but I just got a weird vibe and now I'm wondering if it warrants a call to police? It's not really a tip but I did get both their plate numbers so maybe one comes back stolen or even maybe one of them belongs to a Garland or something like that. You guys think I'm crazy?

I don't really understand from this story why this is suspicious. Can you elaborate on what actions seemed suspicious and how you think this is related to the case?

Why not call it in. You never know. And you got the plates so I'm sure they could rule it out quickly if it was nothing (using the registry database or what have you).
